  • Auburn does have a roster full of 4 and 5 star recruits who were supposed to be great, but they have never developed into greatness. OTOH, the Lakers have a roster full of players who were great at one time, but most of them have gotten old and they might no longer be great.

    Of course, 1 game is too early to say the Lakers suck. You can definitely make that statement about Auburn

    I think people (especially AU fans) tend to overestimate how good your players are and how much "talent" is on the team. A lot of your players were highly ranked in high school, but for what ever reason appear to feel entitled and have a poor work ethic. After squandering your talent for a year or two, it is not always as easy to tap back into when you do change your attitude and decide to start putting in the work.

    NBA is all about athleticism, not about trotting about 5 guys who just came from the old folks home.

    Nash- old as hell, bad back
    Kobe- is he ever not injured? haven't decided if he's the biggest pussy or the toughest guy in the league leaning towards pussy
    Artest- lulz, fat and slow
    Gasol- can he jump?
    Howard- last i heard he needed a walker for his back.

    How the games went last night is irrelevant to the playoffs.

    Being old as hell and not being able to run a fast break is not irrelevant to the playoffs. Who is going to make teams pay for turning it over against the Lakers?

    lol Comparing the Lakers to Auburn is laughable. We are more like Michigan, we will win but struggle to win the big games. I really dont have any expectations for this team I'm just glad we have Howard to build around because everybody on the team is pretty much on their last leg. Howard missed 11-14 ft ,fouled out in the 4th and still put up 20 and 10 thats a bad game, Bynum struggled to do that on a good day. As for that hacking shit it wont work he still will get his numbers.

    Age has nothing to do with the fast break...it's that garbage Princeton Offense Brown wants to play..it's a " walk it up offense" that is completely counter productive to the kind of game Nash and Howard excel in...but I'm sure through all the bluster you actually knew that. peace

    P.S. just relax fella...that was game 1 , you have all year to grip and hate...don't use it all the first weekend.

    Dwight has always gotten his numbers, and he has always lost. You don't build around Dwight if you are hoping to win titles, you have Dwight as your 2nd guy. The Magic proved you can't win the big one with just Dwight, need other pieces around.

    The Lakers on paper have a great lineup built around Dwight, just a shame it wasn't 5 years ago (for Lakers fans).

    I'm bringing the hate all year every day.

    Lebron finally got his ring, and don't think I don't remember the constant jabs at him from every Laker fan. The threads were absolutely laughable, so the favor is being returned.

    Until the King is dethroned Lakers fans have no room to talk period, other than playing 2nd fiddle to the Heat.

    Heat are probably the most explosive offensive team in the league, and it's going to funny trying to see the Lakers run Pau and Bynum at the same time if it ever is a series. Lebron can guard Pau in the post easily, he's proven that. Gasol doesn't have a prayer against Lebron at PF.
