Now I know who's getting the third one. Thanks bub, I was trying to get the whole collection.

  • For only 3 made.. 4.5 million doesn't seem like a lot of money... Now, 4.5 mil is a lot of money but for only 3 made in the world.. They could've got 10 million for each, easily.

  • Wow. Those 3 will be put up in garages for the rest of their lives. None of us will probably ever see one. I bet combined, these 3 cars never do 500 miles.

I bet one will be totaled in a year of being delivered.

Have to say your probably right.

A friend of mine just got a 458 Italia, they said take it easy the first few hundred miles. He was blowing through gears as soon as he hit open roads. He was like really, just paid 300K to drive a car like this hard not sit in the garage and buff. BTW--this is his 2nd Ferrari, first one is a F430 Scud.

You're friend is stupid. Going to ruin a great car doing that crap.. Taking it easy the first few hundred miles is very important and he's risking losing out a ton of money by not taking care of that beautiful machine.

this^ Im not a car guy at all and even I know you have to give some cars a couple hundred miles to warm up all the moving parts and get the fluids running through the engine. He got lucky he didn't blow it up right away. Still probably shortened its life by doing that.

  • The break in period isn't as important in today's cars as it was in the past, due in large part to the efficiency and precision of modern manufacturing. Though I still wouldn't drive off the lot with squealing tires before hitting 100 on the freeway.

  • I always believed in a no break-in period. Just if he is going to do that make sure after probably the 2nd or 3rd ride he changes his oil. That will be the most important part of the "Break-in" period.

I just love speed and if I'm getting ready to drop some coin on something like that it's gonna be the fastest on the road. lol

I mean you could produce a 1000hp GTR for a quarter of the Bugatti.

You got a good point, customizing something is the best part, just something about the Bugatti though.

Also thinking about repairs and things like that. I mean we all think we are the best driver in the world but you're going to have to go to a special place to get a Bugatti or Veneno worked on. Keep in mind I wouldn't buy a car to just drive it twice a year especially if it cost that much. And you're right customizing is the best part and there's more support for a GTR than there would be for a Bugatti or Veneno. But it would be special to have a Bugatti just wouldn't be my choice.

I hate people who buy cars just to let them sit in a garage forever (no offense to anyone here that does). Cars are meant to be driven, are BEGGING to be driven. When I finally have the money and time to restore a 1970 GTO, I'm sure as hell not going to put it in my garage and leave it there.

Exactly. I've actually heard that its a decent idea to make a few wide-open throttle runs with a brand new car. Just change that oil.

But with something as complex and precise as a Ferrari, I would do EXACTLY what the people from Ferrari told me to do.

Bingo. You don't mess around with a car that expensive with instructions that specific.

Really though, the fact the car is so precise means the break-in isn't really as necessary as it would be with other cars. I'm not saying don't listen to the guys at Ferrari, obviously they built the thing and they know their sh!t, but the whole point if a break-in is to allow time for slight imperfections in the engine to seat and form. I bet a Ferrari has way fewer imperfections than a Honda Accord does.
