So, I was looking at some track times for USC's recruits and decided to look at the top 100 meter times this year.
I had absolutely no clue Landon Collins was that fast. He has a 10.44 as his PR and 10.6 as well. That's fast as hell, especially for a kid that's going to play safety.

That 10.44 was a hand-time of 10.20 converted. He is very fast.....(only safety prospects with faster 100m times off memory are Eric Berry and Sheroid Evans, who is more the size of a CB)....but Collins is not 10.44 fast.
He is a legit 10.67-10.73 guy though, which is blazing for someone of his build.
Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

I can't wait to see this kid play. He'll get on the field in some capacity this Fall.
Just think...in 2014, our defense will have Robert Nkemdiche on the line (yes we will), Reuben Foster at LB, and Landon Collins in the secondary. Good luck, America!

How good of track guy is ND commit WR Chris Brown? He's competing for 4 state championships in SC. He's 6-3 188 and recently ran a 10.5+ and had only ran 100 ten times or so. Great jumper and was highly underrated in last years class, IMO. Put up great numbers after missing the first half of his SR season.

But unfortunately they are NWI (No Wind Indicated). Hopefully his time at the state meet will have a wind reading as it's hard to say what his true speed is without a wind reading as a major tailwind versus a major headwind can have as much as a .5 impact on 100m time.
Either way, given these times, I think it's safe to say he's a 4.35-4.40 hand-time 40 yard dash guy.

Brazil should be compared to guys like Damiere Byrd, Bradley Sylve, and Marvin Bracy as these guys are all 165-180 pounds. Collins is a 210 pound safety.
It's not often that you see high school kids at 200+ pounds that are fast enough to be sub 11 at 100m.

Pretty sure he recently reported running a 4.37, sounds about right. Believe his best event is a jumping event. Supposedly jumped 50/51 as a HS SO/JR which would have won Big East this year. Kid has all the talent to do big things at WR with a 6-3 frame.
