  • Alright I was wrong on the LB. the radio just kept mentioning the RB as a backup. and mcgloin was one of the first to say something. My point was that it's easy to say you're sticking with your commitment to PSU if you aren't one that's being highly recruited, like Redd.

    So are you saying that Mauti is a liar when he says he got contacted by at least 50 schools? He's been under the radar because he has had multiple season ending knee injuries in his career here but he is a stud and will play in the NFL. Between he and Hodges (also highly sought after) there is no better LB duo in the nation.

    Its obvious that everyone is surprised by the solidarity of our roster. You guys wanted to see the team destroyed. I get that. However, just because they didn't all leave you start justifying that by saying they aren't good enough. That is just untrue. There is a ton of talent on this roster.

    O'Brien was only saying that he would appreciate the courtesy of a phone call. The rules state that they don't have to do that. As long as they contact the AD office with the names that is all the NCAA requires. No one is saying these coaches are breaking the rules here.

    I'll give you that but its pretty clear that group of players was decimated by the scandal and losing their head coach. The talent was still there. We now have a staff that understands matchups and how to exploit them. There is a lot that remains to be seen as far as how O'Brien will do on gameday but the resounding feeling is that we have more faith in him then we did in the previous regime over the last few years.

    Yeah, you are right... they stink, clearly. That is why teams from all over the nation were willing to give up a scholarship pick next year in order to take some of these kids, right?

    Sounds to me like you are saying the only one on our roster getting any attention is Redd. That would be false.

    I'll give you Redd but if Fortt leaves its because he is not a slamdunk starter on our team. He hasn't been able to beat out Glen Carson in the middle and indications may be that the new staff prefers Carson anyway. Fera is only considering UT because he's from Texas and I believe his sister attends school there. He's a great specialist but considering the schollie limits we will have those roster spots will likely need to come from walk-ons anyway.

    I'd also beg to differ that guys like Donovan Smith, Amos, Hodges, DaQuan Jones were much more sought after than Fortt and Fera. However, since they reaffirmed their commitment right away you didn't hear much about them.

    Don't get me wrong. I'd hate to lose any kid but so far Redd and Fera are the only starters rumored to be looking around.

    He's 50/50 at this point, but OSU is behind Pitt and WVU from what we hear.
