ARE YOU STUPID OR U JUST PLAYING STUPID or being sarcastic? Wierd Al zheimer picked jamarcus russell should I repeat it jamarcus never mind so Calvin johnson must be out of the league by now right? with kiff the raiders were making progress just like UT under Kiff ,he just didn't have the support or resources hE now has at tUSC peace BTW I'm a Raiders fan and was a season tix holder when they were in L.A.

Russel was a bust, for sure, but the wr position doesnt win super bowls.

Ask Fitz, Steve Smith, Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, or even Calvin Johnson.

When you have the #1 pick in the draft, no one wants to trade up, you take the best player available...and that wasn't pimp daddy. That was my point.

Not much you can do with a million dollar arm and a ten cent brain.

The 2nd half of the season they did not, although the NFC West did. My point is that a halfway decent QB with special players around him can be successful, e.g., Eli Manning. Wouldn't hurt to get rid of AZ's coach either...the guy is huge delta bravo.

roflmao chill I’m just playing. The Raider’s picking Jamrcus was one of the happiest days of my life because we got CJ. You could make the argument that at the time it was the right move. 2007 was a very weak QB Draft which is why JMAC got pushed up in the first place. The Raider’s IIRC desperately needed a QB. QB’s win SB’s not WR’s. At the time I thought they should have traded down, but I understood the pick then and now.

Ken Whisenhunt is a good Coach, but he should of give Matt Leinart a chance

Yeah I feel you, but the NFL is weird like that, during drafts.

You see it every year with qbs, with 3-4th rd talent, being drafted into 1st rd money.

Maybe. But I want to see it on the field.

Edit: FWIW as far as LK possibly being too "offensive oriented", here's one example. Scholly reductions started with the 2012 class. According to 247, 9 of the 15 players USC signed in that class were on the offensive side of the ball. In the 2013 class, which also will be limited in size, 8 of the 13 verbal commits USC has so far are on offense. Maybe that's just how the needs have worked out in these classes, but it looks like LK might be one of those coaches who has a hard time passing up elite offensive talent even if that means less room for players on defense.

The defense was pretty damn good by the middle of the year last year.

    Held Cal to 9 points

Held ND's offense to just 10 points (additional 7 were on a KOR)

Gave up a lot to Stanford - but 22 of the points were in OT with a very short field.

Held UW to 17 points (avg 35 PPG against everyone else)

Held Oregon to 7 1st half points, lowest every for a Chip Kelly coached team. Oregon's offense scored just 28 points (avg 47 against everyone else)

    Held UCLA to 0.

Let's agree to disagree on The Whiz. He's getting by right now on their defense, the emergence of Patrick Peterson on ST's, and Fitz using his bear claws to snag everything within his grasp. He still does not know who his QB will be. He can say Kolb, however, that guy needs to stay in a full game.

Eli’s not halfway decent. The guy is legit top 10 QB in the NFL. It’s not like he was throwing to a team full of Calvin’s either. Hick’s, Cruz, and MM were very good as a total group but none of them by themselves are elite WR’s.

If Eli’s halfway decent what’s Mark?

Eli being a "legit top 10 QB in the NFL" means that the NFL has a void of legit QB's.

Mark is in a system that is not made for his gunslinger mentality. With that said, he needs to take the next step.

Name Fitz's QB last season. Now look at his numbers. You think Eli was the reason the Giants won or was it because of some insane receptions by the WR's?

The NFL is a qb league, dont shoot the messenger. So yes, Eli made the right passes, and its the wrs job to catch them.

I wasnt dissing Fitz. If the Cards had a legitimate qb, they would put up w's alongside Fitz's numbers.

  • I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure. There isn't a single part of his process that he allows an ounce of fail to be apart of.He'll catch bad breaks like everyone else but his process is air tight.

It's a passing league, however, that does not mean the NFL is oozing with QB talent.

It's early. He's only going into year 3. If you're right, though, we should see it on the field this year. No more giving up 30, 40, 50 points.

He needs to tell his dad to retire and go get another elite under 45 year old defensive mind in there. Monte is blast to be around but he's not on the level he was.
