I wouldn't get to excited. Larry Brown never stays in place to long and hasn't coached college since the late 80's.
Hope he works out though.

Genius hire for SMU, Brown brings credibility to their program as they head to the Big East and they are getting their arena completely renovated so recruits will take notice. Doesn't hurt they are in Dallas either. Also sounds like they are hiring Illinois St HC Tim Jankovich a coach in waiting position(104-64 at Illinois St) which means they know Brown won't be around very long.

Could Larry not get a job anywhere else? And why does SMU want a 70 year old coaching their team?
