If I'm reading this correctly, it further proves my point because most of the players from the State of Nebraska appear to have ended up in the B10. But it also highlights why it is misleading to assign entire states to conferences. Take Florida. You have classified Florida as SEC territory when two of the major FBS schools (Miami and FSU) are in the ACC vs one (UF) in the SEC. It's arbitrary. You yourself pointed out the problem with the State of Texas now that A&M is in the SEC. It might be useful and/or interesting to track draft picks by state, but when you then turn around and assign entire states to specific conferences the numbers become misleading. If you want to track draft picks by conference, you can easily (and more accurately) do that directly.
