Latino Football Players

  • What is the reason their is not more Latino Football players in CFB/NFL. They make up more then the Afro-American population, but I could only name like 10 NFL players who are latino (Sanchez, Cruz, Castillo, Munoz) Being Mexican American and a fan of USC, not that it matters a whole lot, but it would be cool to see a latino player on tha team. U would think in a place like LA wear latinos make up 40% of tha population there would be aome Latino players, but there was only like 3 guys with
    spanish last names who were recruits in CA. Places like FL, Texas, Chicago have lots of Latinos but still not many of them make it to College/NFL.

  • We're usually small and grow up playing baseball, soccer, and wrestling. Anthony Munoz(and I, of course) are the exceptions.

  • Different races are good in different sports. Example: You don't see many elite African American (AA) swimmers because AAs have denser bones which make it more difficult to swim efficiently.

    Nothing racist about my statement just an admission that different races are good at different athletic ventures.

    Another Example: Samoans seem to be stronger on average than other races.

    Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

    Current ones: Ryan Braun, Ian Kinsler, basketball player Jordan Farmar, Gabe Carimi, Taylor Mays, Igor Olshanky...they are out there. There are only like 3.7 million Jewish people in the U.S. and they come in all colors and originating from all parts of the world.

    Spanish people are from Spain and are not from the same ethnic group as Latinos, which refers to people from Latin America. Being Latino, kind of a pet peeve.

    I was just saying how certain ethnic backgrounds have reasons why they are good at what they are good at

    Lots get pissed over this but I believe blacks are so much better than whites at football, basketball and baseball cause of slavery

    They learned the same sports but while their ancestors were working 12 hour days the white man was sitting on his ass for the most part

    Now blacks are much stronger, faster and seem to build muscle much quicker in a lot of cases that I have seen, coincidence ? I doubt it

    That one dude " the Greek always talked about this and got fired for it but I believe he was right

    Yes but the best talents I even saw in baseball were mostly black dudes

    Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ken Griffey and on the list goes.... Bonds pre or post steroids

    So Latin people are not Latino, but indians are? Interesting.

    The word Latino comes from Napoleon, who named this part of the world Latin America as opposed to Franco America purely for PR reasons. Seemed less imperialistic.

    As to the OP, tons of Mexicans play HS Football, and many are pretty good. Height is a limiting factor for most, as you could be a real good HS lineman at 5-10, but you are certainly not going to get any D 1 offers.
