My father's family is from Chihuahua...tall people, redheads with freckles, or blonde and blue eyed, my grandma was 5'8" tall when she passed away 40 years ago. Some of the family married beautiful, dark skinned people that brought exotic richness to the line - and coal black eyes with dark and natural eyebrows and thick eyelashes mixed with light skin and hair..thank God, I don't have to paint my face on, lol.

Mom's side is from Guadalajara, 'nuff said..tons of French there, green eyed and petite women.

Huge difference between the Spanish and French conquerors and the Brits..they intermarried everywhere, with anyone, lol.

You are so correct. I remember when the Jimmy "The Greek" made his comments and I wasn't sure what to think as I was only 13 at the time. After researching/studying the subject matter I agree with him as well. It is stated that his CBS bosses agreed but his comments were deemed "politically" incorrect and he was fired as a result.

There is so much information that describes the differences physiologically between different "groups" and even some "in-group" differences that make some better at certain athletic endeavors than others.

I alluded to swimming earlier and poster joetheogre stated that he felt that different groups excelled in different sports more so due to cultural differences and I respectfully disagree.

Examples:

I. Jamaica has a population of ~2.9 million people but it has
A. Currently 3 of the 4 fastest men in the world and probably 5 of the top 9.
B. Currently 3 of the 5 fastest women in the world

***ACTN3 gene (aka the speed gene) has been identified as being more prevalent in Jamaicans and thus the reason that they excel as sprinters.

To put this in perspective, the World Population is approximately 6.84 billion people

II. In world history, 76 men have run the 100 meter dash in under 10.00 seconds
-72 of the 76 are of West African descent
-1 of the 76 is Caucasian European (done in 2010)
-No sprinter of predominantly Asian or East African descent has officially achieved this feat.

If you were to compile similar statistics for swimming or cold weather sports, the races that are less dominant at sprinting are more dominant in these sports. Even if African Americans or those with West African descent focused on swimming or cold weather sports (perhaps with exception of the bobsled or short ice skating sprints) there would be very few that would excel due to these innate differences.
