You're probably right, but Urbz is probably going to have the higher rated class every single year. So, it's kind of dumb to laugh at Urbz losing a committ. It's like LOLing at Saban. It just sort of makes the person who is doing it look ridiculous.

Me? I'm still riding high on the Von Bell commitment.

Higher ranked on paper probably. Urbz high ranked classes don't always pan out the way they should though.

Hoke is great recruiter, Urbz is better I have no shame in admitting that.

Luckily recruiting isn't the only thing that matters. Development, toughness, work ethic, character all come into play. Should be interesting down the line.

looking forward to November, we owe you one.

Lolz, dude gave you guys two national titles. Pretty ungrateful. You should be sentenced to a decade of more Ron Zook.

They both are getting the guys they want for the most part, so recruiting becomes more about the evaluation than the actual recruiting aspect.

Yeah, Urbs is building the team he had at Florida, and Hoke is building in the Alabama mold. Should be a good game for years to come.

Somewhat. He's operating on a lot of the same general philosophies, but I think it's obvious he's making a bigger push for the more traditional BIG back to compliment the speedier all-purpose guys.

Speaking of "development" that is the biggest improvement I see on the defense side for you guys. Just look what Mattison has done in his first year alone. Not sure about the "O". Do you see you guys scoring less with the new style offense. I'm thinking the score for "The Game" will no longer be in the high 30-40 points per team. More like last years score.

True. Plenty of high star players don't pan out. Charlie Weiss had some pretty bad ass classes when he was HC at ND but didn't develop it into anything.

I think this is more accurate - we'll be seeing scores in the 20s. I think there'll be a lot more emphasis on ball and clock control in the pro-style offense, and like you said, Mattison has ramped up our D, so we'll definitely be looking at lower-scoring games. While I think we could still hold our own in shootouts, that's not the game we're looking to play.

  • Per a source close to Marshall: “His commitment to Ohio State was more of a heat-of-the-moment decision and wasn't discussed with everyone... He has plenty of time to make a decision and there’s no need to rush his recruiting process. It wasn't just his conversation with Coach Dantonio that made him decommit but I know whatever him and Dantonio talked about gave him a lot to think about.”

We'll see what another season's performance under the ole Danman gives him to think about.

It's a banner year at the top of the Hot Dog Water State's prospect class and I think we'll definitely be eating plenty of street meat.

    Outstanding

  • What classes has Urb ever had that didn't pan out? Obviously he's had some players not pan out, but just look at all the players he recruited at Florida that were first round draft picks. There will be a few more this year with Shariff Floyd, Matt Elam, etc. I mean, has Hoke ever even coaches a first rounder? Hoke is still very unproven with his recruiting classes panning out.

And no, Hoke is not building a team in the "Bama" mold. It's more like Wisconsin. Bama has elite athletes all over the field at the skill positions. I know Derrick Green is a good RB, but you're still lacking skill position players. I'm sure a few of your receiver recruits will end up being good players, but Bama loads up on those kids every year. And if they don't contribute, they most likely transfer. Then more come in next year and replace them

Urban went 8-5 his last year at Florida. So that class obviously wasn't that good.

Did Bama load up on those kids in Saban's first two years brah?

  • 8-5 after losing a ton of players. Janoris Jenkins got kicked out. Tebow, Major wright, Ahmad Black, Brandon Spikes, Joe Haden, Carlos Dunlap, Maurkice Pouncey, Riley Cooper, Aaron Hernande, and I'm sure there's more I can't think of. When you lose that many players in one year, youre obviously going to be rebuilding the next year. Hell 8-5 in a rebuilding year in the SEC, what was Hokes recrod in the B10 this year? Lol

So Meyer gets a pass for players leaving early, or kicked off (Saban loses guys never falls off), but Hoke doesn't get a pass for Rich Rod massacre he inherited. Figures

Hoke went 6-2 in the B1G this year. Meyer went 4-4 in the SEC lol.

    Even more lolololololololol

Meyer lost to 9-5 USC, 10-4 FSU, 9-4 MSU, 10-3 Bama, and 11-2 LSU. 18 combined losses.

Hoke lost to 12-0 tOSU, 13-1 Alabama, 12-1 ND, 11-2 USC, and 10-4 NEB. 8 combined losses.

You have your head so far up your butt.
