OT. I see you guys just offered Kief. How many WRs do you guys plan on taking?

We will take as many WR's as hoke has chins....

Listening to some of the pro-hoke stuff is laughable. How many games did arm punt bail you out of by himself?

Your attitudes will change when you take a 35 point ass ripping this year from Urban

I would offer up a ban bet that OSU wouldn't win by 35, but let's face it, you are going to get banned within the next couple of days anyway.

I understand it should be and our focus should be on WR, but I dont feel like Kief is right for Michigan. I really like the kid, but he reminds me of Dukes and we need a burner not another possession reciever.

And I didn't know he turned down jobs. I implied that in my post to JT. But my point still stands. You're acting like Hoke sucks because he didn't coach at better schools before he took the UM job. That is poor and stupid logic. If you want another example of a coach who came from a no-name school to the big time and coached well, I can certainly find one for you.

And yes, you're right, you did not predict the future. I read that wrong. My bad. But you are predicting that Meyer would have performed better at BSU and SDSU and calling it "reality"..

I'd like you to prove that to me. Considering it never happened, not sure how it could be reality.. confused

You cannot come to that conclusion based on past results. Comparing Utah to Ball St (or SDSU) is flat out stupid.

Well, since you've offered twice now, please...go ahead and give me the name of another coach who has come from only mid-major experience (where he had a less than .500 record) and he was a big success at a top 10 program (I'll be generous and say scUM is that) in his next gig. There may be such examples, but none come to mind off hand.

BTW, reality is your word. I never used it. I offered my firmly held opinion (that Meyer would have gotten better results from BSU and SDSU than Hoke did). Then again, that same opinion is held by everyone except delusional scUM fans trying to console themselves.

And nobody compared Utah to Ball St or SDSU. I compared their bodies of work. And it's certainly can't be held against Meyer that Hokie doesn't have the chops to make a stop-by-stop career comparison. Hoke couldn't get jobs equivalent to the ones Meyer did...BECAUSE HE WASN'T AS GOOD A COACH.

It's like saying we can't compare the Miami Heat to your local high school team...because they haven't had the same resources or played the same competition. facepalm_msu Yes you can compare them. The Heat would kick your local high school team's ass every day and twice on Sunday...playing only their backups. To say otherwise is to hide from the truth because it doesn't suit you.

  • We will probably take 2-3. Marshon Lattimore should be a buckeye. And Urban is chasing after Drake Harris and Damare Kitt hard. They probably wanna see Kief in camp before they let him commit, but im not sure.

Frank Thomas. Went from Chattanooga to Alabama and won 2 NCs, also racking up 140+ wins in his time there.
Don James went from Kent St to Washington and won an NC, racking up 150+ wins.
Lavelle Edwards came straight from HS to BYU and led them to an NC.
Bernie Bierman went from Montana to Minnesota and won 5 NCs with the Gophers.

If you want me to keep going, I can.

And you never used the word reality? Huh? Go back to to the last page and read your posts.

And it might be unfair to compare bodies of work depending on the state of the program when they arrived. Was Utah a dumpster fire when Meyer arrived? I doubt it to be honest. Much easier to put up better records when you have talent.

I tend to agree with you in general and about Hoke, but the talent was already there argument is hard with Urban...

What he did at Bowling Green proves the point. Hell he had half his team quit once workouts started and he brought the trashcans in.

Utah was also like 6-5 the year before he got there than went 10-2 and 12-0. Hard to say he didn't have a significant impact even if the talent was consistent.

Yes, but Urban's was a "scare," Dantonio had an actual heart attack.

In total honesty, I had actually forgotten about that until BBucks mentioned something.

Utah was 5-6 when Corch took over. Bowling Green was 2-9. Just saying.

Urban had esophageal spasms which show symptoms of a heart attack...people fail to realize this when mocking his fake heart problems. You notice those who have had them don't mock..
