I certainly hope not....LSU could be badass with an elite coach.

Zero losses in zero years as a head coach is better than 11 losses in 2 years by a head coach.

I wish! He was a redshirt senior for Muschamp's first year in 2011. Got hurt in the game against Alabama. Returned for the Georgia game but was gimpy for the rest of the season. I think I can safely say our fanbase would call him the worst QB that UF has ever had.

Kid wasn't done any favors. It's not like Meyer knows anything about developing a QB, and he was obviously rushed back before he was healthy enough to be effective.

Urban had no intention of tailoring that offense to fit him. He just wanted the stars to boost his recruiting numbers.

I wouldn't go that far. The kid looked all-world in backup duty after Tebow had put 40 on the board. He just regressed. Just didn't have the "it" factor. He seemed scared. He reminds me of how Blaine Gabbert has looked in the NFL.

It would hurt to lose Les Miles at LSU. Would hate for them to have a good coach.

Funny, but the 2nd and 3rd best coaches in the SEC West could be Sumlin and Hugh Freeze. Who would have thought that a year ago?

    What about Mullen at MSU?

He had a disappointing year last year, but he's done some pretty good things in Starksville.

Or how Gilbert looked at Texas.

I was high on him. Not a bad coach, but he has failed to capitalize at MSU, IMO. He really needs to move on to something better ASAP or he will eventually get fired.

Very similar. I don't know how highly touted Gilbert was coming out of HS, but Brantley was a low 5 star I believe. Gatorade POTY.

I remember when Gilbert had to go in to the MNC game, I was like "kid will do good next year"....boy that ended up a bad call.

Gilbert was big-time IIRC. I didn't follow recruiting at the time (still in HS and exclusively followed OU only), but Texas fans were fired up when they landed him.

So did everybody. He had/has all the physical tools, but just couldn't handle the pressure that goes along with being a big time program's QB1. Since people knew Mack wasn't leaving, they shifted their hatred and criticism to Gilbert.

    Where else could he go?

He wanted the PSU job, but we went in a different direction.

I think MSU would be making a mistake by doing that, but the arrival of Freeze and whatever it is he's doing to bring in top talent really won't help him. I was surprised at how poorly they did last season. They've got a few REALLY good players every year, but don't have the QB or depth to get things done. I was rooting for him, and obviously still like him.
