  • Hey there is a tweet going around that LSU is using ebay to pay players/recruits by having them sell junk and having someone pay good money for it. Have you 2 heard anything about this. If so it was pretty smart thing to do.

  • As an LSU fan I haven't heard anything but if true I'd have to bow to the brainchild behind it. Hard to prove also even with evidence.

  • No chit, its freaking genius of an idea. I just find it a really interesting concept, and if it is happening I applaud LSU for doing it. boomersooner

  • This isnt exactly new. The Ohio State stuff started off trading football stuff for tattoos. AJ Green of Georgia also got into trouble for selling or attempting to sale a replica of his own jersey a couple of years ago

  • I haven't heard about this. Sort of like the Aubs paying Cams dad because technically, that's legal.

Who knows but it wouldn't surprise me.. But I don't think Miles is smart enough to do this so if true, it would probably be a grad assistant or someone like that.

  • Pretty fvcking genius if true. No way that it could be proven. You bringing this up will have every major school practicing this method. Not fair if only LSU is doing it lol

Since when is it legal to pay anyone? Oh yeah, never as far as I know. You can think whatever you want, but no one ever proved we paid Cam's dad, which is why nothing was ever done about.

Of course, I can also believe LSU paid Patrick Patterson since a former Texas A&M assistant coach claims Will Lyles asked for $80,000 in return for Patrick Peterson's commitment and Will Lyles has actually admitted to personally escorting recruits to LSU's campus

Supposedly you Aubs donated to his church to get him the money- or some such nonsense.

What makes me mad though is there really wasn't a loophole in the rules. The meaning of the rule was clear and they chose to misinterpret it in order to keep Cam eligible.

So whether or not you paid him, they solicited money and he should have sat out. That's why your title is tainted.

Far different practices. Those things were easily traceable as later proof showed. Ebay or paypal payoffs are much, much harder to prove if done correctly. The NCAA would never get records from Ebay or Paypal. FBI maybe but it wouldn't be an easy fight. If the accounts aren't in the kids' names or their guardians, even better. It really is a genius idea and wouldn't suprise me one bit if true even as an LSU fan. I've talked to many insiders and people in the know, so trust me, this is nothing new aside from the means. LSU has as many skeletons as almost any school nationwide. The Saban years were filthy which makes the fact that a faction of Bama supporters who think everything is done free and clear at Bama now, even more ridiculous. Bama's school history and Saban's personal history put together do not = a clean program. All is fair in recruiting until whistles start blowing. At that point deny, deny, deny and separate yourself from the offenders as quickly and as well as possible. No sense losing sleep over it or arguing that it isn't happening at your school. It happens everywhere. OSU fans are fortunate Pryor stayed quiet or what they got would have been worse than USC.

  • I don't recall any program Saban was HC of ever getting into NCAA trouble during or immediately after his tenure.

Do you have anything other than hearsay backing up your claims he was dirty while at LSU?

Getting in trouble and not getting caught are two different things. Trust me that we do just as much as any other program does. You don't get classes like we do when every other school is paying people just because they have the opportunity to win rings. It's not rocket science. We ALL cheat.

Plus the textbook thing happened under Saban but I don't think he had a clue about that honestly.

I'm just saying that since he wasn't caught you have no real evidence that he has EVER been involved in any kind of NCAA trouble. I don't doubt that things go on behind the scenes with boosters and such but I don't think Saban facilitates or directly knows (probably suspects).

And the textbook case was being investigated before Saban arrived- the sanctions weren't announced until after he became the coach.

Then why did Saban have to forfeit wins over it? Think big guy. The textbook thing was under his watch.

The textbook thing was continued from the Shula days during Saban's first year. When he realized it was going on he stopped it and suspended the players.

You act like it STARTED under Saban, which it didn't.

I don't disagree with that and I really am a Bama fan. I just don't buy that the thinking like most that Saban is clean as a whistle. I really think it's trivial when one person says one coach is worse than another in college football. We all have skeletons in our closets.

Until I have a reason to think someone is dirty, I don't.

I place more blame on boosters at schools than I do HCs. I think most HCs are careful these days to avoid asking too many questions- as I suspect Saban does. So while he may suspect something, he probably doesn't know for sure who is paying who.

Of course you don't think Bama/Saban is dirty... The only school in the NCAA who is clean as a whistle.

FWIW I don't think he did anything wrong at LSU but they all do SOMETHING.. These coaches have creative was to do things that we don't know about.

Anyways, not trying to start a flame war or anything. Just going to leave it at that.

Seriously bro worry about cleaning up your own house before you point fingers at others. Erick Locke's father actually wrote a letter to a friend admitting bammer paid the rent on his house and lease on his car during his son's career at bammer. The friend gave the letter to the Nashville Tennessean newspaper and they published it on the front page of their sports section. The NCAA still did nothing about it. You can go to the archives section of the Nashville Tennesseean newspaper and find this letter today. That is also actual fact, unlike the nonsense you posted about Auburn giving money to some church connected to Cam's father

There is also no doubt in my mind that bammer is still cheating today. Half your current football team have been pictured driving Yukon Denali SUV's they probably cant afford and you can also find pictures of rent-a-trent aka trent richardson going out to dinner with bammer boosters, the same bammer boosters showing up for the birthday party of rent-a-trent's daughter, and julio jones being pictured wearing hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of clothes he probably cant afford, and juio trying on some of the these clothes inside a clothing store owned by a bammer booster
