    Dude...loco

All you have to do is look at how Ohio treats Lake Erie.

    Lake Erie Pollution Problem 1970

By the 1960s the lower Cuyahoga River in Cleveland was used for waste disposal, and was choked with debris, oils, sludge, industrial wastes and sewage. These pollutants were considered a major source of impact to Lake Erie, which was considered dead at the time. On June 22, 1969 a river fire captured national attention. Time magazine described the Cuyahoga as the river that "oozes rather than flows" and in which a person "does not drown but decays." This event helped spur an avalanche of pollution control activities resulting in the Clean Water Act, Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, and the creation of the federal and state Environmental Protection Agencies. For more information on the past problems and current state of Lake Erie, go to the TEACH site at http://www.great-lakes.net/teach/pollution/water/water5.html . TEACH is a project of the Great Lakes Commission through a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency - Great Lakes National Program Office.

  • Honestly, my only problem is with the OSU fans. That's odd because I generally have a lot of respect for the traditional powerhouse schools... Penn State, LSU, Michigan...even Wisconsin. Not USC though... ive lived on the west coast long enough to know that west coast fans just really don't get it.

I think the list you had for your state says enough about how awful it is up there. Have fun swimming in the lakes and golfing when there is two feet of snow.

Your statement says enough of how little you know of Michigan. Let me help you:

Did you know: there is generally only snow for about 4 months of the year. That leaves 8 months of great weather.

Did you know: there are many great ski resorts in northern Michigan.

Did you know: there is a thing called ice fishing.

Did you know: lake michigan does not burn if a match is thrown in it (unlike lake eerie after what Ohio has done to it)

I am cool if Ohio people don't like our state (leaves more of up north for us) but I don't think the majority do, at least when I see a shitload of Ohio plates all going norh on 75. I assume it's because they are escaping their dreary existence in ohio

  • ive lived in both for about 20 yrs each, ohio is my hometown...

judging from the major cities (detroit, lansing, etc and cleveland, cincy etc...) ohio's are nicer (cleaner, safer)...

however, ann arbor beats columbus as far as college towns and northern and western michigan are friiggin beautiful...

i love my home state but we dont have anything close to northern and western mi when it comes to natural beauty...

all tho, put in bay and the islands in lake erie are one helluva a good time and i highly recommend them on a holiday weekend...

Probably driving north to Put in Bay or Cedar Point, which by the way both are filled with Michigan residents. If it makes any difference....It wasn't Lake Erie that caught on fire, it was the Cuyahoga River.

Boyne Moutain is a good time and I had a few friends who went to MSU. I like tailgating there the best of all the Big Ten schools.
