Lets talk 2nd round steals right now

  • I have my eye on about 5 guys that I think very well could have been 1st round in terms of talent, and think will be great values. Hoping my guys (Lions) take any one of them and I'd be jumping for joy.

Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State: The poor kid failed drug test combined with the tat scandal is probably why he fell, but he is a legit starting offensive lineman in the NFL. Could be a starting RT or LT for a team pretty soon.

Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford: I was actually surprised he didn't go in the 1st round. I think he will be a guy that plays right away for whoever takes him, and I think he has major potential to be a star TE, especially with the position becoming more and more important.

Lamar Miller, RB, Miami: Probably the most explosive RB in the entire draft. I don't see much of a difference in the two RB's that went late in the 1st. I think Miller has the potential to be every bit as good or even better as them. His speed is what stands out to me. You cannot teach that kind of speed, he also has good size and he was a very productive player his last two years at Miami.

Janoris Jenkins, CB, University of North Alabama: Top 10 talent, 10 cent head. I think his talent and his troubles are pretty well documented. I think it's pretty safe to say that talent wise he is neck and neck with Claiborne, maybe not as good, but he's very close, and more talented and more upside than Gillmore, the DB from South Carolina that went in the top 10. Obviously because of the off-field issues there is a high risk factor there, but if he gets in the right situation he will be a star CB in the NFL.

Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama: I am still surprised he didn't go in the 1st round. I think this will be another case of people trying to judge the measurables like height and 40 time a little too much. The tape doesn't lie, and the tape says Upshaw was a fantastic player. Lots of teams are going to look stupid for passing on him in the late 1st round, I believe. He reminds me a lot of Lamarr Woodley, and Woodley fell for similar reasons- too short, too much of a tweener, speed concerns.,

  • I think Courtney Upshaw, Lamar Miller, Cordy Glenn, and Coby Fleener will all be very good Second Round picks for whoever picks them. There seems to be some very good linemen on bothsides of the ball as well that are still available including Devon Still Jerel Worthy Jonathon Martin and Peter Konz.

Are you mistaken? I thought Jerel Worthy went first round!

  • Worthy
Upshaw - Still a tweener but a good player. Needs to lose a few pounds and he could be a 4-3 or 3-4 LB.
Fleener - Smart good athlete. Needs the right fit. Poor mans Ahern?
Wr Hill from GT - Freak athlete. GT seems to have one of these every couple years. Not bad for an option team
Janoris Jenkins - Easily top 15 talent. He and Claiborne were neck and neck for best corner in the draft.
Pass rusher from Marshall who's name I can't recall. Hope the Jags get and another talented WR today.

Lamar Miller has the talent but he's so soft. Really like Alshon in the right system with the right team. New England could be a great fit, same with Green Bay. Really think Broyles is every bit the WR Kendall Wright is. Wright shouldn't have gone that early. Also think Tommy Streeter is a good player. Miami seems to always produce solid/good Wr's. Just because he wasn't great in college doesn't mean much anymore. That's the trend with the Canes these days.

does he really have that many kids? I thought he only had 2. I think you might be thinking of Antonio Cromartie who has 7 kids with 5 different baby mamma....and with two more on the way. lol

  • Haha, im a horrible poster? Just because you don't agree with my opinion (which is right 96% of the time) doesn't change the fact that NBC is about to drop Notre Dame because of the ratings fail. It also doesn't change the fact that they are irrelevant. Suck it... yes nice and hard.

  • Devon Still. Better than the other DTs taken in the first round. Big Ten defensive player of the year. In his career he had 32.5 TFL 10.5 Sacks and 113 total tackles. He can play in both the 3-4 (5 tech DE) and 4-3 (3 tech DT).

The fact that 3 DTs with less production in college were taken before him is a joke.

  • I can see Buffalo targeting an OT. Still several good ones left, though I don't know that Buffalo appreciates Adams failing his test. Ideally, get one of the OT's in round 2, then a WR in round 3.

Hill is probably the only WR I'm really a fan of in round 2 right now. I don't even know if he'll contribute right away, but would be a nice asset down the road.

Well Cromartie has wound up being pretty good, and he has 7 kids from 5 different women with twins on the way.

9 kids from 5 different women. Can you imagine the child support on that?

Four jits from four different women. Who cares? Guy can and will ball in the league for years to come.

he's one of the best man-to-man CB's in the NFL. Ask him to play zone and he's lost in translation, but man him up with WR's and he's good to go.

I like Cromartie. He's a really good player.

Saw him tear us up. Figure he's bound to be picked by the third round? Fourth at the latest?

Homer pick, looking forward to seeing where Lavonte David lines up next year. That guy makes plays, really impressive talent, however undersized linebacker.
