Dude. Do I seriously have to show you the math again? It's not physically possible for the vast majority of liberals not to believe in God.

Quick rundown: ~80% of America follows some sort of faith. Based on voting numbers for the most recent presidential election, ~51% of the population voted Democratic, so we can assume that at least 50% of the population would fall under your definition of liberal.

Therefore, even if every person in America who doesn't follow some religion identifies as liberal, 3/5 of liberals are still religious.

You're correct. But on the same token, reality isn't always best. I'm a firm believer that people that are 100% theoretical and people that are 100% realistic are 100% wrong all the time. Operating under the assumption that the world could operate in some utopian way is pie-in-the-sky to say the least; I think many would agree with that. But to also say that the world works X way now and that's the way it is and always will be is incredibly short sighted and, quite frankly, defeatist. Progress isn't a bad thing.

If you know it then you'd know that states deciding their own laws in some cases means jack squat because of it. If it wasn't for DOMA, gay marriage would essentially be legal everywhere.
