Live Under Armour Updates - Day 4

Agree as I don't see either as 5 star guys. Morris reminds me of a left-handed Mark Sanchez as his accuracy is erratic IMO.

Nothing like Mark Sanchez. Sanchez's main issue is arm strength, which leads to his accuracy issues. Shane Morris has almost too much arm strength and when he lets off on his throws, he is very accurate. You also have to remember that Shane Morris missed most of his senior season with mono and is still getting used to his receivers. I'd like to see him in a game environment before I mark him a bust or a 5*.

I just think it's funny how one site sees Shane Morris as the top QB on the east and one site thinks he's been disappointing. Also, the coaches are clearly impressed as he's been with the 1st team all along (at least on TV)

Shane Morris was not named starter of his team, so the coaches apparently have not been as impressed as you seem to imply. Also he seemed to do very poorly in the skills challenge with accuracy, for what it's worth. We will see in a few years how he develops.

shrug that's why I said "at least on TV" because he was running with the first team when they showed it on TV.

I've been very skeptical about Morris the whole time you guys were gloating about him (not because hes a UM commit) but because IMO guys like Browne and Hackenburg are 5* guys, Morris missed out on 1/2 his senior season, but when he did play, he didnt impress, and he got blown up vs St Iggy.... He looks good in shorts and T shirt, has great ''swag'' but I dont see him being the superstar your fans think he's going to be... not very accurate, has a big head, and seems to have at the least good foot work which should lead to decent accuracy... That's just my opinion, I'm obviously not a QB coach (was always a defensive guy) so my opinion probably means about as much as a fart in the wind.

You do realize St Ignatius is one of top schools in the Midwest if not the country.

I could also make that argument for Hackenburg when his team played Derrick Green's team on ESPN. He looked just terrible and think they scored 6 points.

Except Gunner Kiel is a head case who couldn't decide where he wanted to go, even after enrolling at a school. Shane Morris has a crazy work ethic and is completely committed to playing for Michigan, no matter what he has to do.

what does being committed to a school have anything to do with being a five star?

I got to see him in a game. And he was Gawwwd awful. With that said he was playing 1 of if not the best team in ohio in Cleveland St Iggs. But he was horrible in that game. Not going to put it all on Morris however. There was a huge talent gap between those teams and Mr. Morris had no supporting cast. I am however in the group that does not think he is a 5* caliber. Not that stars really mater. I've seen lots of 2 and 3* playing in the NFL now.

Yep the argument could be made for Hackenburg after his game on ESPN as well. However Hacks team had a good season and he was the reason why. Morris did not play well period before he got sick. Not trying to bash the kid, I truly do wish him well. I actually wish all these kids well. As a father you hate to see any kid not be successful.
