Looks like it'll be Obama/Romney in November

  • To quote the great Jim Ross "IT'LL BE A SLOBBERKNOCKER!"

I think this is going to be an extremely close election, and like I've said in other threads, election years are my favorites. I can't wait for the debates and conventions and all that good stuff. What are everyone's thoughts about who Romney should/will pick for a running mate? Republicans, who would you prefer?

I think Obama will run away with this election. Only a few things could happen that would make him lose IMO. He hasn't even really started up his campaign yet. Iran going to war would be very ban for Obama and if the economy dips before the election. Those are the only things I could see happening that would let Romney win. JMO though.

This is about right. I'd add Europe on there as well.

I think Marco Rubio would be a great pick for Romney. I don't think he's shown any interest in the V.P. position, though.

No point in ruining your credibility if you can get more Senatorial experience and run in 2016.

Romney is going to have some religious right staying home and is losing the vote to Obama for women and independents.

Ah yes the Evangelical Christians. Would they really just not vote (or vote for an obscure, third-party candidate) because Romney is Mormon?

I saw a stat where if Obama wins the female vote by at least 7%, then it won't matter if Romney wins every other demographic. An ABC News/Washington Post poll came out today showing that he leads Romney among women 57%-38%. If he can keep that up then it shouldn't be close.

if you can hear his speach in florida right now. oh man. he is using the same policies as Regan. he will turn this country to love him again.

I personally know many. A buddy of mine voted for Santorum in the primary and when I asked him why not Romney, he replied," I'm not voting for a Mormon or a Muslim."

I honestly don't think he's going to take the sharp left turn the right thinks because he's not the liberal they also think.

I have yet to understand how any evangelical Christian, who votes based on faith, could ever support someone like Romney.

Mormons do not accept if you are baptized in any other faith. That right there should keep a devout Baptist or Catholic from wanting a Mormon in office.

  • I may sit this one out. Obama has been horrible, but I am not sure that Romney will be much better. I will watch the debates, but it will probably be Romney or nothing.

You can/should still vote in your local/state election on November 6th.

  • I will vote in local. I always do. I wouldn't miss an election with local issues. Never have except for a year I moved our of state. I am not a fan of voting for someone to lose. Mathmatically my vote doesn't mean anything nationally so I am not worried about that. I don't know much about Romney social issues, but I do like him economically more than obama.
