Louisville a near lock for NCG next year?

  • I am thinking of putting a bet down on that.

Don't call me crazy yet; look at these facts.

They are going to start in the preseason 8-15 spot.

Their hardest games will be Uconn/Kentucky/SDSU/BSU. (IMO)

They have Bridgewater and a lot of other starters returning.

This is Louisville's schedule (dates aren't released yet)

    Louisville Home:
    -UCF
    -Memphis
    -Rutgers
    -San Diego State
    -Ohio
    -Eastern Kentucky
    -FIU

    Away:
    -Boise State
    -Cincinnati
    -Connecticut
    -USF
    -Kentucky

  • Depends. Just because you are undefeated doesn't meant you will get in, especially after seeing other teams get killed (ND last year, Cincy by UF in 2009). It would take some help IMO.

  • They won't start high enough

They'll be mired in that 6-12 range while other teams move up/down around them

I know right now that there isn't a W on that schedule that will tickle anyone's pickle

Look at their preseason rankings. If you don't think they will reach number #1/#2 if they go undefeated and all but one (or none) team in front of them go undefeated your are a straight up dumb ass.

Especially is Teddy stays healthy and puts up insane numbers he will build Heisman hype and help them out even more.

Different circumstances but Auburn started I think 24 in 2010.

If they win out they have an argument but it sucks because they're big easy

Most preseason rankings have them around #8...

If teams lose they will move up.

  • Gonna need a lot of help, tOSU is playing a similarly childish schedule so Cincy would have to depend on an SEC champ having 2 losses or a Pac 12, Big 10, or Big 12 team having an unimpressive 1 loss season.

They would have to be the only undefeated team left. Otherwise they will be left out. Even undefeated, I wouldn't put them over a one-loss team from the B1G,ACC,PAC12,SEC, or Big XII.

    Lets be honest.

We'd all put them over any Big 10 team regardless of record

    One helluva different circumstance

Undefeated SEC champ > anything that Louisville could do

  • They'll prob lose to rutgers imo. They seem to randomly surprise

    CaneFanWNY

  • SOS keeps them out even if undefeated

    MarylandDawg

  • lolz at Louisville going unbeaten, ever

Especially in a tougher conference down the road

Last year they randomly beat UF in the bowl game, but Florida smacked them up in that game.... imo UF was clearly the better team they just dicked around in a bowl game... its not the first time we have seen this happen in bowl games when it comes to the more talented team laying an egg

Then you have the glaring black eye of losing back to back to Uconn and Syracuse

L-Ville can do some things but bottom line in they are a Big East team who lost 2 games in the Big East, and OP has them in the title game next year ? WTF, stop it

A lock? With that schedule? Maybe I'm wrong but isn't this the year that the 4 game playoff comes into play? So UL toughest game wouldn't be known at this point if they go unbeaten...no?

no playoff till the following season, 2014 cant come soon enough imo opinion with even the possibility of nonsense like this happening. UL in a NC game? That would be one of the lowest televised games in history.

still think 4 teams isnt enough but glad they have made progress and hopefully this is just a test run and they will expand to allow atleast a top 8 or something so there arent butthurt fans claiming they should have been included.... there will always be a TCU, BSU, type that has a great season and feels entitled to have a shot at it, with a bigger field I would like to see them thrown to the wolves so the fanbases of those teams can be quickly reminded as to why they dont belong.

    ScumDominator

  • The real question will be if they run the table, will they make a BCS bowl game ? shrug

Big East automatic bid has been revoked. [ACC]

    I wouldn't do it.

The chances tOSU goes undefeated is high.

The chances Louisville goes undefeated are high as well, but not as high as tOSU. They've been known to lose games they shouldn't.

The SEC champ is pretty much a lock now a days to make the game.

The odds aren't favorable and there are too many variables that go into undefeated seasons.

Maybe some small money would be a good idea. Then at least if it happens you can crap in all our Cheerios.

    What are the odds?
