    Is that deal still with Fox?

    I think so. Can't remember the full details of it. Hopefully it works out better in terms of being wide reaching as compared to the Lakers and Yankees channels when those first launched. I knew some Yankee fans who couldn't watch them for 2 years unless they were on Fox/ESPN/etc. and a similar situation is currently unfolding with the Lakers channel, but that seems to be getting worked out quicker.

    Fangraphs had him worth 23 million last season and it was one of his best In LA. The year before it was 11 though. One a one year deal I'd be fine but a 38 year old that's steep.

    gotta love LMC! never invest anything into their product. it's insane that with the reach the Braves have and revenue they generate they continue to be middle of the road in spending. too much emphasis on developing unproven talent and not enough on getting proven talent via FA. you can't replace a tier 1 FA with bottom of the barrel leftovers.

  • As a Red Sox fan I can tell you Cody Ross's season was a product of Fenway.

    @ Fenway .298 BA, .356 OB and .565 Slg .921 OPS

    Road .232 / .294/ .390 for a .684 ops

    He kills LHP (1.010 ops) but vs RH it's .729. Overall not bad but how much is him being a fly ball pull hitter in Fenway a factor?

    Well, The Guggenheim group paid over $2 billion for a franchise that I didn't think was worth $1 billion so shrug.

    I guess we're Yankees west. Not the way I would like to build a team, but I would much rather have ownership take risks and shell out cash than what happened under McCourt. Colletti has always been a pretty big spender.

    Agreed, it's mostly my fear of your becoming Yankees west and forcing us to spend more, which I hope we don't do.

    I like the way Sabean has been building these teams and hope they continue to do the same. Even if we're not winning titles, these teams match the city and are fun to watch.

  • I like Kuroda and with him it's probably a one year deal because he wants to finish his career in Japan. He wouldn't be a bad one year filler for a 4/5 spot in a rotation. If anything he is pretty consistent.

    AJ Pierzinski said he's always wanted to be a Bravo. At least he has some fire to him. I would have much rather had him since it's just a backup role.

  • Not a move, but Jay Bruce is looking for a 6 year extension in Cincinnati. That would mean Votto, Phillips, and Bruce would all be locked in long term. Would make Reds fans happy campers.
