Im interested as to whats going on with Youkilis, AJ Piersynski, Nick Swisher, Victorino, and others. The Braves are really idiots though. The paid BJ a 5yr 75 mil deal. The next closest team was Philly at 5yrs 55mil. They paid an extra 20 mil. they coud have used some of that for Victorino, Swisher, or others.

Call it a decline but trading a potential #3 starter who could throw over 180 innings for your team fora setup guy who throws 50-65 is dumb. Braves got fleeced.

Well maybe on your team he's a 6 but if you look across baseball he is still above average and isn't expensive. Awful trade. No reason you couldnt get more than somebody who only throws 50ish innings.

In all honesty for someone who can't hold runners at all (any decent base stealer should go first to third with little resistance), has had nearly a 7mph drop in velocity, a funky delivery that puts stress on his arm and a history of injuries in a brief amount of time I'm surprised that got what they did. They should have traded him last off-season. I'm pleased they got a hard thrower in the back of the pen in return as we don't know which Venters we will get.

Man I just don't know. I know about his health issues and his velo lose, 3 not 7, but in general it's a bad move trading someone who has 3rd starter potential for a guy who is going to pitch the 7th inning for you. I know it's good to save 4 million but wouldnt it be just as easy to not have Paid Upton 4 mill more than the second highest bidder? I guess the Braves know more about Hansons medicals than any other team but I wouldn't be surprised if Hanson goes there and pitches 175 innings with a sub 4.00 Era. Which is above average.
