"Cross Platform Save" Functionality in MLB 12 The Show works like this:

Requirements:

You must have both PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game.
You must use the same PSN account on both devices.
Your PS3 or PS Vita must be connected to PSN when you are ready to upload/download your save file (on PS Vita, you must be connected to PSN via WiFi; MLB 12 does not support cross platform save using 3G).
How it works:

During your Season, Franchise or Road to The Show modes only, after completion of a game, you can save your game and upload it to the cloud. From there you can download that save file from the cloud onto your PS Vita, or vice versa.
Not supported:

Pausing and saving the game at any point. The game must be completed.
Playing the game on PS Vita without the software.
Playing against someone else on a PS Vita while you are on your PS3 (Cross Platform Play) or vice versa

Plus I always guess fastball. Give or take 50% of the time thats what it is anyways. If it's not it helps me with my timing.

Yep. Guess fastball, and if it isn't you are expecting a breaking ball which you can time better since you know it isn't a fastball. I struggle against pitchers that have a 4 seam and 2 seam along with 2 breaking pitches. Timing is difficult with them.

The Show is worth buying a PS3 by itself. Not to mention all the other great exclusives.

Yeah. You guess pitch type and location. Each tells you before the pitch if you were right or not. Guessing the correct location shows you were the pitch will be exactly. Guessing the correct type will increase the sweet spot.

Not always. Lets say you guess fastball up high, and the triangle turns red and starts vibrating. You guessed the right pitch and location, congratulations. What if the pitch is TOO high, and you swing right under it? Happens all the time. I think I have it, and I'm going to smash it, but WHIFF. He pitched it way high and I completely miss when I should have taken it for a ball.

I love the Show.

Yeah. I got pretty good at recognizing pitches when they come in too high and can normally check it.

What I hope they kept in this years game was all the old school nicknames you could have the announcers pronounce your name as. My centerfielder was Dixie Catfish and my shortstop was Cowboy Rabbit.

Practice, practice, practice. The hitting practice modes really help. Try them out.

I'm really considering picking it up. I have '10 and it's great of course, but I have such a backlog of games that I'm not sure I can justify the purchase. Knowing me, though, I'll likely pick it up depending on the reviews posted here.

I simulate a lot of games. I play some meaningful series and things like that.

I usually don't play many games when I'm doing that. I usually just try to build teams with trades and stuff. Ill play the playoffs or other big games. I'd say i play maybe 20ish in the regular season.

I don't play that mode much. Almost all road to the show for me.
