  • Quick review: The new hitting and pitching styles will take some getting used to. Everything else looks great. I'd go for the 5 GB download as it's about the same load screen speed from last year. The 10 GB is rather pointless if you're patient enough.

    I like fast loads. That was a big complaint from me last year, was the loading screens taking forever. With the 10GB download the loading screens are very fast.

    Jesus, 10gb for faster loads?! Why not just add an extra disc in the game with that data on it.

    I have been an Xbox guy for the better part of a decade so I've been stuck playing 2k forever. Someone sell me on why I need to go purchase a ps3 and this game.

    I'm already thinking about it bc I'm dying for a good baseball game again.

    it will be the best $320 or so you have ever spent, trust me. Sony blows 2K sports out of the water by far.

    When I was about to get the red rings for the 5th time, I took everything I had and traded it in at Gamestop. I knew I could sell it all online for more, but I didn't want to mess with it. I just stuck it all in a bag and took it in. I got around $250 total credit, and I bought a 160GB PS3 Slim and MLB The Show 11. When I made up my mind, I knew right away that I would get the Show because it is seriously the best sports game on the market and it isn't close.

    The exclusives also helped me make up my mind. PS3 really shows off its superior graphics with its exclusives. Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted series, Killzone series, LittleBigPlanet series, Heavy Rain, MLB The Show, ect... There really are too many to name. Back in the day XBOX was better for exclusives, but PS3 has owned them in the exclusive department for quite sometime now. The blu-ray is nice as well. Also, online is free and its the same thing that XBOX Live is. As someone that has years experience with both, trust me on that. Don't let fanboys tell you that PS3 online sucks because its free. Its the same thing, but Sony doesn't charge like the greedy Microsoft does. Out of 4 platforms, Microsoft is the only one that charges. PC, PS3, and Wii are free.

    Do it, I bought a PS3 just for this game. This will most likely be the only game I own for the PS3.

    this so much. My budget always includes: The Show, FIFA, NHL, Tiger Woods PGA (the only 3 series EA seems to nail dead on every year), NCAA, Madden

    I have given up on NCAA and Madden. When they put some effort into making a game, I will buy them again.

    NHL and FIFA are always good. When I said "missing out on some great games" I meant PS3 exclusives because I'm sure he has an XBOX that he plays sports titles on.

  • My only reservation is that it's got to be getting close to the next gen on consoles to be released (ps4, Xbox 720) I dont want to buy the ps3 in addition to my xbox 360 and have them both for a year or so then the others come out. Anyone know anything about when the next generation will come out?

    PS4 won't be out until 2014 at the earliest

    Next XBOX could be out for holiday 2013. PS4 won't be out until probably a year after the XBOX, so holiday 2014.

    Are they going to add more accurate AAA, AA rosters later? I was just looking to see where they had a lot of the Royals farm system rated and they didn't have any of the correct names. Then I noticed they don't even have Bryce Harper listed with the Nationals.

    Can't have a guy's name who hasn't played MLB games. Some kind of legal reasoning on that. I bet if you look at the Nats AAA afilliate there will be a catcher with inititials B H and have an A pot.
