    Oregon offered him early and he committed. That just proves that Mack was way off.

    Mack was certainly way off, but most coaches were. He wasn't upset that we wanted him on defense since he was hearing that from a lot of coaches. He had a good senior year as a QB. We had already moved on by then. I am glad he won the Heisman. Unless I miss my guess, this year was his best shot.

    Justin Thomas c/o 2012 was offered a chance to play qb by Oregon early in the process. Committed to Bama to play db or wr I forget. Signed with Georgia Tech as a qb. All that to say teams like Oregon sometimes offer qbs based on their athletic ability not based as much on being the ideal qb. That being said, ole Mack hasn't done anything with Texas since they lost the NC game to Bama back in 09. A poor season for Texas should be 10-2

    If Tannehill was that great for you at QB, why did he play WR for 2 1/4 years then?

    The guy in front of him was busy re-writing the A&M record books for Qb's until he got hurt and had shoulder surgery....which led to Tannehill taking over for him mid-year. Then he proceeded to re-write the records...now johnny is doing the same.

    Hey, I'm all for you guys keeping Mack around for as many years as possible... Whether it's his talent evaluation or talent development that is lacking, it's hard to argue with the offensive struggles that Texas has had since McCoy graduated. Meanwhile, we'll just keep on doing the best we can with these lowly old 3 star prospects....;)
