Madden is Dead to me..

  • They removed Franchise mode and Fantasy Draft.. Main reason i bought the game. I wish i would have looked up reviews on it before hand. So heads up to everyone else. If you like either dont buy it. frustrated

    How do you remove Franchise mode?

  • Playing Connected Careers mode as a coach (as opposed to a player) is the same as Franchise mode. I have the game and I'm loving it so far. It has a few wrinkles that need to be ironed out, but nothing a patch can't fix.

    Exactly. Change just turns people off. Yes, there are some options missing from it that were available last year, but it's soooo much deeper. Also, it's not like EA hasn't been advertising this for months now.

    The CC mode is really really good this year, could be great with a patch, and should be epic next year.

    Can you play connected careers as a coach offline or just online?

    That's all I need to know.

    I don't like what EA has done with some of their games by making you purchase things online. Tiger Woods is one. Courses that used to just on the game now actually cost money and have to be purchased online.

    Its somewhat like it but not exactly the same like you cant own multiple teams so if you have an offline friend(s) you cant play and you cant do fantasy draft that was prolly my fav part because I like to start fresh and put together my team. and they changed some other minor things. Its may just be a thing where you need to get adjusted to but I just dont see why they changed it at all it was fine the way it was before. However i will say the game play physics on this game are legit and if your more of an online player it would be a good game.

  • My biggest gripe is the inability to edit players in CC mode. Other than that I've found it enjoyable.

    Fifa and NHL are the only EA Sports games worth owning.

    No fantasy draft means it can't be successful. No matter how good the rest of it is, that's an absolute travesty.

  • I've been playing a ton of NCAA and Madden is so much better than it is. So for me, i'm very happy. Connected Careers is franchise mode. You can make your own teams in exhibition mode and ultimate team is pretty addictive as well. Either way Madden is superior to NCAA which means i'm going to play it a crap load. Don't really get the negativity.

    I'm not a fan of any particular pro team but I'm a huge fan of fantasy football. Being able to do the fantasy draft in Madden was a big draw for me. Not having it is, well, a joke.

    Minor improvements, but still not good player animation. Tackling is all wonky because of the Infinity Engine that is pretty much the same damn thing they have been using for years with a few very minor tweaks.

    You want to get the negativity? The negativity comes from football fans that have no good option for a football game. Why do you think EA bought the license for NFL? Because 2K was costing them millions of sales with a superior game. Now Madden just sucks because they know they have the market cornered, and people will buy it because its the only option.

    I hate EA Tiburon with a passion. EA Montreal is the only EA Sports developer worth a damn, and that is why NHL and FIFA are the only ones worth owning.

    I agree that its been a football monopoly and that has hurt quality, but the gameplay and presentation in this years Madden really is a step forward. FIFA is by far the greatest sports game going so I agree with that too.

    Getting rid of the import I think had some to do with the vast difference between Madden and NCAA this year, as far as the engines they run on, the physics, etc. The Infinity Engine I think is an improvement. Though its pretty hilarious when five players fall down well after a play because they cant stop tripping over each other.

    No, the engine doesn't matter. Its not like the player from NCAA is going to look the same in Madden. Its just numbers. Height, weight, gear, tone of skin, and attributes. That is it. Engine has nothing to do with it.

    Just did a quick check of every Madden forum I could find, and the amount of returns(a lot with a full refund) is astounding. No fantasy draft is REALLY pissing people off. I know I always did fantasy draft when starting a franchise because I like to make my own team and manage it.

    What a fail this game is. I seriously have no idea what EA was thinking. Oh wait... yes I do. "Hey, people will buy it anyway because its their only option. Lets take out two of the most loved options so we can bring it back in a year or two and say its new! Brilliant!"

    No thanks. I'll wait for NHL and Fifa. Two franchises that add to the game. Not subtract.

    No thanks. As expected, EA has ruined Madden. Maybe when someone else can get into NFL games, they will put out an acceptable football game. Until then, they will give us crap.
