I do not watch every episode, but I've seen enough of it to know the content and it is a little racy for ABC Family. I do not have a problem with the way ABC Family is presenting the content, but she would not be watching it if it were on another network though.
It took me a little time to come to terms with it but there are plenty other shows her friends watch that shock me ten times more than that one. She can watch Pretty Little Liars until her heart is content, some of the kids she goes to school with are watching Jersey Shore.
As for the two things you brought up....
Ezra and Aria did take some time for me to come to terms with.
Emily and the two girls she went out with did not bother me in the least, that is life. I was actually glad that they addressed it, just like I was when it came up on Glee.

Hey, I didn't say I liked it, but I would much prefer her watch Pretty Little Liars over some of the other choices for teens these days. She's handling the content well and as long as that continues and the show stays on the ABC Family side of raunchy then we'll be okay.
Could be worse, she could be watching Desperate Housewives.
