Don't agree with it but can't really argue against it either. The marine knew the policies and decided to go against them anyways. Changing the policies should be looked at hard but until they are changed, follow them. It's that simple. Marines are really good at following orders after all.

Marine Corps reasoning behind those rules makes complete sense.
This guy didn't just bend the rules, he flat out destroyed them. Saying 'screw Obama, I will not follow orders from him'? Really?
How can there be any question that he took his dislike for Obama way past free speech into breaking the Marine Corps rules.
Not to mention no member of the military can support or come out against a politician AS a member of the military- the guy created a FB group dedicated to getting other members to come out against Obama! The President!
No offense but a few of you who disagree with this action- not all- may be coloring your opinion based on the fact that the marine was talking against Obama, who you do not agree with or like.

USMCAG, does it really not make sense to make the air force guys spend more time on PT when it's less crucial for them than other branches?
Makes more sense to me to have them study be more competent at flying, fixing, etc.
Let's be honest, if it ever comes to needing the AF to defend on the ground alone, we're screwed.
But then again we can't exactly rely on the Marines to carry out all the duties of the AF either.

That's why I said 'flying, fixing, etc.' thus leaving room for those who aren't flying but help in other ways.
As for my other remark, the job of the AF is to provide air support...everyone in the AF contributes to that somehow, but not all need PT standards as high as the marines.
