rumor guess we will have to wait and see on this one

as we will have to do with all recruits on every team.... that is recruiting.... until they sign, they are always going somewhere else....

exactly right but you have to think that the kid will continue to have a strong pull to FSU since Dad played there and thats the team he has "heard about " his whole life cheers

does it help FSU that his dad went there, sure does... but that is just part of it..... also FSU had a ton of key injuries, it happens.... without those injuries FSU is most likely a 2 loss team.... now Jimbo is in year 2 and has had more success than Texas in his 2 years, so to sit there and say FSU will not compete ( cause that is what you are saying without saying it ) and Texas is and will is another assumption.... both teams have the talent in place, just missing that one thing to get the, over the top... I have a gut feeling to, and it is he stays true to his committment to FSU..... nothing has told me otherwise.... you are making it sound like FSU is a second rate program.... just like Texas had those down years, nearly 2 decades, FSU has hit a rough patch, just like Texas, FSU is and will overcome it....

U r reading into what Im saying. I will say what I think. I wont "say it without saying it" I didnt say FSU wont compete, in fact I said quite the opposite in that I thought they were on the way back to the top 10. I agree both teams have talent in place. I said nothing about FSU being a 2nd rate program, I even gave the time frame to which I was refering, the last 5-6 years. You are not paying any attention to what I am actually saying. You are again making blanket assumptions and twisting or just flatout ignoring what I am saying. I clearly stated my opinion and qualified my exact points. I dont know a better way to say it, cuz you are infering whatever you like instead of just reading it.

Ya, actually, it is a fact. He and Torshiro were the only recruits at the UT banquet not currently committed to UT. Since you have apparently been to all schools while they are recruiting prospects and thus have witnessed every single one of those recruits put on the helmet of the host team, I should disregard my facts(my old frat buddy is a grad. assistant and works as a photographer for the Longhorn Network, he was present at the banquet. He was all excited when he saw MEJ throw up the hookem horns and don the helmet. He was disappointed that Torshiro did not put on the helmet at any point) and go with your blanket assumption. Again, I did actually read what you wrote, I know that u agree he could possibly pick somewhere other than FSU.

so you are telling me NO other recruit has ever put a Texas helmet on.... got it..... thanks for clearing it up...... sorry that is hard to believe that MEj is the only recruit to ever have a helmet on while visiting Texas...

the way it is coming accross on the internet is, he only picked FSU cause of his dad, if it wasn't for his dad FSU would not be in the picture, cause they are not as good as Texas, OU and LSU... that to me is implying Texas is on the same level as OU and LSU, again before you claim that I am having a blanket assumption, that is how it is coming across on the web.... so don't sit here and come at me as if I am ignoring what you have said... the way it reads and what you mean can be interpret differently.,... and my main thing has been what Texas fans have said is the exact same as OU fans regarding MEj.... so as you can see FSU is now in phase 3 od rumorville and assumptions that he will not be a Nole..... but yet he still is..... to sit here and try to guess reasons why he should or shouldn't go to certian schools is assuming..... if a kid that was committed to Texas visited FSU, took a picture with a helmet on does nt say to me he is not solid to his school he is committed to..... to me that tells me he is taking full advantage, enjoying his moment.... that is all..... maybe I just don't get overly excited and freaked out over when recruits visit..... like I said OU fans glamoured over him saying he liked how OU dismantled Texas and could see himself playing for OU.... until NSD stories like this will be out there... it happens every year.... and the % is not as high as some thinks on top kids flipping, does it happen, sure does. But if you read these boards and others alike you would think about 85% of top recruits flip....

I cleared it up perfectly. You'd have a better time reading and comprehending if you'd pull your head outta your $%* Can you read? Nowhere in anything that I have written does it say that no other recruit has EVER put on a Texas helmet. I said that at the banquet, just talking about the UT banquet, the one and only UT banquet this weekend that I have been talking about this whole time, MEJ was the only non-UT commited recruit that put on the UT helmet.

can you read or comprehend, cause I clearly stated it happens every where and that others have put on a Texas helmet, again the way it came across was as if this one act was as if it was ground breaking... look he is wearing a Texas helmet, look he is thtowing up the hook 'em horns.....as if no other recruit has ever done that..... that has nothing with reading or comprehending..... it was it was interpret.... sorry no reason to sit there and try to talk down on me.... qnd my head is where it belongs..... appreciate the concern though...

  • What everyone seems to be overlooking is that not only has MEJ heard about FSU his entire life, from what I understand he has visited the school numerous times and feels comfortable there. I also remember reading that MEJ wanted to commit before he actually did and his dad told him to wait to make sure that FSU was the school he wanted to play for. This does not seem like MEJ was coerced into signing with FSU by dad. I am sure that he is living it up being the big man on campus every time he visits a school. Every big recruit seems to come away from their OVs impressed (who wouldn't?) but the infatuation seems to wear off as soon as they visit the next school. I guess we will all see on NSD but as of now he is still committed to the Noles and until he decommits....... FWIW I just do not see his dad being OK with him stringing FSU along if he was 65% sure that he was going to UT.

How does Texas lead when he is committed to FSU?

    Lol gtfo of here dude.

Probably the same way Keenan Allen was committed to Bama until 2 or 3 days before signing day and then committed to Cal

WTF, how can he be going to Texas when Oklahoma is convinced he's committing to them? Can't believe every year all these suckers buy into this crap from recruiting services/sites/gurus.

I don't think he is going to OU. At one time he told several people that OU looks like the place he wants to be. That was a while ago and things change. I do hope he goes somewhere else because all you fsu guys are turning into assholes about this and it doesn't matter anyway.

Moot point ... Not a single Texas commit is taking visits at other schools. None. If they were, we wouldn't be regarding them as commits whether they had officially decommitted or not. The longer this one plays out, the better for FSU.

arent you guys one of the schools that will take the scholarship offer away if the commit visits another school. FSU encourages kids to take visits so the kid knows he made the right choice. not worried, MEJ will visit in late january and that will be his last official

Interesting. I didn't realize that. We're at the opposite end of the spectrum. I can't imagine that we'd pull a scholarship for a talent like Edwards, but recruits are encouraged not to commit until they are sure.

Both ways are equally effective imo and both can bite you in the ass

  • Hey Pepper, heres a news flash for ya.....................you get same recruites EVERY year, and begin the process of regressing them and end up getting your arse whipped. You had the same classes in the past few years and you have gone 5-7 and 7-5. Here's a reality check for ya...........who gives a rats ass who goes to Texas. MOST OVERRATED RECRUITS IN FOOTBALL. Stoops takes lesser talent and whips Ole Yeller like the dog he is.
