  • Only started one season for SC, probably could have used a little more college seasoning. Looks like Pete might have been right about that one.

Then again, he is playing in an offense that can't even be helped by football jesus himself. That team just plain sucks right now, including Sanchy.

Haven't seem too many guys regress like that. Feel bad for Mark, he's a good guy.

Im have started threads on it before, the main reason is they are surrounded by great talent at USCw for one thing

Similar to why Bama, FSU, Texas, UF, and Miami QB's all pretty much sucked too

Then you add their laid back, growing up super rich in most cases and weak mentality that most of them have, and most are way too pussy to handle the rigors of the NFL

Barkley will be a bigger failure than Leinart and Sanchez, just watch

He wasn't really right though, staying another year would have only served Carroll

Sanchez would still have sucked had he entered the NFL a year later, hell he could have stayed at USCw another decade and still not have made a mark in the NFL

Mark has the talent to succeed in the league.

He needed the decision making and fine tuning consistence that he could've gotten with another year in school.

When you're thrown into the fire right away in the NFL in a place like New York, it's tough to develop.

No doubt, its not a question about talent

But all these 5 star handed everything in life little bitches aren't usually the ones who succeed in the NFL

You need that chip on your shoulder so to speak

Look at Brady, or RG3, or say Aaron Rodgers

All guys who always had to prove their merit from high school to college and even in the NFL

The guys that come from the storied programs who likely win with or without these Mark Sanchez types, almost always fail and fail hard cause they have never faced any real adversity in their lives

From high school 5 star to pretty boy off the field, almost all of them have had that anus kissed everyday of their lives

Meanwhile guys like RG3 are told they can't even play QB and Tom Brady is riding the bench behind some baseball player that wasn't even great at either football or baseball

JMO, give me the kid with a chip on his shoulder

Its part of the reason I have always been Team Coker and not Team Winston, look at Johnny Football... he was told he couldn't play QB, and that lead him all the way to a first freshman to ever win the Heisman type of season

#NoVa!.... ( drops microphone.... gracefully leaves thread )

And Chad Henne. Mark Sanchez has been over rated from day 1. He is an awful QB who can over achieve and become mediocre on his best days. The Jets certainly will be looking for a new on in the off season.

Why do USC QB's suck so much?

Because, they are used to being surrounded by elite talent going against college quality players. Now Sanchez has mediocre NFL talent going against NFL players. In other words, it's on him now and he isn't good enough step up and win.

They really should just play Tebow or McElroy at this point. I don't care how much the guy is making...

  • I'm a Jets fan, and I wouldn't go as far to say I was rooting for the Jets to lose, but I'm happy they did. Last thing I wanted is this team limping toward the playoffs and saving everyone's job. But with everything on the line, they laid an absolute eff.

The GM and the entire coaching staff needs to go. The team needs to be blown up.

I'll tell you why. It's the chip on the shoulder principle. Other than Brady and Peyton (and brady doesn't count due to being drafted late) all the great ones of today's era come from non football schools.

Guys like Leinhart, Barkley and Sanchez have everything given to them. The good looks, the best looking girl, the awesome offensive line, the great backs, receivers, etc etc etc... They're "groomed" for success so to speak, but this is a recipe for failure.

When you don't have much to work with and have to CARRY your team, you work out better in the long run. Let's look at some QB's... Brees-Purdue, Cutler-Vanderbilt, Rogers-started at juco, Luck-Stanford (yeah, I know elway, but long time coming and not exactly the football powers of the SEC), Matt Ryan- BC, Schaub-Virginia, RGIII-Baylor...

There are some exceptions to the rule, but when you're put in a position to win at a lower level, when you get to the highest level, you BETTER be able to carry your own weight. They lack work ethic and commitment because everything always came easy to them. Well guess what? Nothing is easy in the NFL.

Brady big exception and he mentions it all the time about being drafted in the 5th round. ( I believe he was ) Other guys have the ho hum approach cause they were always the stud quarterback. I don't want the guy who went to Mater Dei, tutored by high end guys, ate met Rx for breakfast, etc... Gimme the guy who had to WORK for everything and nothing came easy.

    That guy will succeed.

I think McElroy would be worse and Tebow is a disaster waiting to happen.

Sanchez is ranked #33 amongst starting QB's in QB rating... there are only 32 teams in the league. How much worse could it get?
