  • I like Reyes but he isn't going to age well and has 5 yrs and 96 owed to him. Johnson is great when healthy who is coming off his worst season and going into a hitters park and facing DH's instead of pitchers. Buehrles contract was back loaded and he's due 11 million, 18 then 19 in the next few years. He should take a step back due to the parks as well.

  • This is probably one of the worst trades I have ever seen. Dumping all of your chances to be anything next season just to dump some salary. Hell, Buck is a good catcher.

    Blue Jays will be a hell of a team next season.

    Seriously... This would be like the Reds dumping Votto, Phillips, Cueto and Jay Bruce. I couldn't be a fan of an organization that stupid.

    It's nothing like a contending team like the Reds trading 4 all stars. The Marlins are losing money and they got rid of 170 million in contracts. Johnson is no sure thing and if he is healthy will test the market, Beurhle will not age well in the AL east, Reyes is owed 96 million on the wrong side of 30 and dealt with hamstring issues.

    I'm not sure what to make of their return but they weren't making the playoffs over the Nats or Braves and by this time next year Johnson would be gone and Reyes and Buerhle a year older.

    Nothing? They probably wont lose money in 2013 and got a few starters under the age of 23 years old. They gave up an injury prone SS, an injury prone SP, an old soft tossing SP a catcher who didn't break the Mendoza line and cleared 170 million off the books. They would have finished in last place with or without those guys.

  • Jays baby! Huge trade for us and sets up well for next year.

    Reyes is exactly what we needed in the lineup. Lead off hitter with some speed to set set the table for Joey Bats and Edwin. Our offence is going to be dope.

    Johnson will probably be our 2nd or 3rd starter which is rock solid. Buerhle is a decent 4th starter.

    Jeff Passan is the man. I remember right after the city agreed to foot the bill for that stadium, a couple MLB teams had their financial statements "leaked". Turned out the Marlins were crying poor and raking in $40 mil in profits every year. MLB actually made them spend money and they just dumped it again.

    I almost want to re-watch the first episode of the Showtime show about them to remember the effed up analogy that owner's stepson gave about working over the city to get the stadium on the taxpayer's dime. It was sickening.
