Martin/Zimmerman: NBC apologies for editing 911 call

    You only need probable cause to make an arrest. Zimmerman initially lied by saying that he NEVER chased martin. He said he left the car to get the street name. That was proven to be a lie when the 911 tape was released and therefore enough for an arrest. Even more, the shooting happened off the main road in someones back yard. How did zimmerman get so far a away from his vehicle if he didn't chase martin?

    Thanks. I can never get anyone to tell me the facts. All I ever see or hear is the racial stuff.

    I think the da will just wait on the grand jury which will convene next week. Fwiw, I think the racial stuff is more about profiling than hate crime. The hate crime angle is bs. But he definitely profiled the kid.

    It is despicable...and not surprising.

    Also much worse than the pic, not to say the picture is excusable or ok in any way. Whoever put the pic out needed to check their facts first, but NBC doing this is much worse than some random guy putting it out, because of who it is, it will be more accepted as fact while the picture will be questioned because it doesn't come from a "credible" source like NBC is expected to be.

    A white guy shot a black guy. That is 100% of the reason you are hearing people crying about murder. Ignore the fact it was in self-defense.

    If Zimmerman was black or 100% hispanic, this would not be national news. You know, I know it, and everybody else knows it. That is not "playing the race card", it's 100% fact.

    I can also say that if zimmerman were black or if the police thought he was 100% hispanic he would've been arrested. This only became an issue because zimmerman wasn't arrested. This is fact and you know it.

    No, it would have been national news either way (see the Duke Lacrosse case).

    However, I don't think he's a racist and I certainly don't think he's a murderer. It's not illegal for a neighborhood watch guy to follow somebody around the neighborhood.

    I don't understand where youre going. Either way this became news because nothing was being done, not because it was a black kid that was killed.

    This was three weeks old and our didn't get any news play st all. When the mayor released the 911 tapes then it exploded because
    1. Zimmerman lied about never following the kid
    2. Most of america believed it was trayvon
    screaming for his life.

    Despite more than enough probable cause, no arrest was made.

    I agree and have no problem with zimmermann trailing him in his truck. Even though zimmerman automatically called the police as soon trayvon walked into the complex, I have no issue with that.

    My issue is when he gets out of his truck and chases the dude. Keep in mind that hes chasing the kid around at night time. I think trayvon had a right to be terrified and stand his ground against this weirdo. How would trayvon know who this dude was?

    I didn't say it was enough to convict him, just enough to charge him and let the court settle it.

    If it is proved that you lied about the events in question, that is enough to make an arrest, sorry if you disagree.

    Also, the shooting happened off the main road and nowhere nearZimmerman's truck. It was behind a set of town homes near trayvon's house. Again, if zimmerman didn't follow, why were they no where near his truck?

    Considering she was the girlfriend of the dead teen, her "testimony" should be deemed as reliable as Zimmerman's.

    I agree that I'd like to see the rest of the evidence, but if the police haven't arrested him yet, I trust they know more than you or me.

    Zimmerman has already lied about not chasing trayvon. I think her story is more credible, she hasn't been proven a liar yet.

  • I think the only fact that is known at this point is that Zimmerman is an idiot. I have about as much an idea about what went down as everybody else(none), but what is clear is that he was a doofus wannabe-vigilante who put himself in a situation where nothing good was going to happen.
