Exit fee won't even matter if they are deciding whether to leave or not. This is a 100 year decision. Whether 50 million or 5 million that's meaningless in the long run.

You are acting like this is the first school that has ever left one conference to join another and had to deal with an exit fee. I assure you MD (and every other ACC member) has had their attorneys look at it and provide a legal analysis of how binding it is. That's what lawyers do for a living.

Rutgers brings the NYC market about as much as Temple brings the Philly market.

Nobody in DC gives a crap about Maryland unless they're having a lot of success, which neither of their revenue sports have done in a few years. And even then they only get about 40,000 for football in their better years and their basketball program has less fans in the area than Georgetown's.

Don't overstate the market share issue.

I think they may move Illinois over to the west to pair with NW. The want to keep competitive balance, so I think that would be the best setup.

This is from a Washington post article just after the ACC vote I thought spoke volumes, Id say we will see some laywers get very rich as much as anyone in all this...

It is stunning to me how stupid people are when it comes to using a mediocre team (UCONN) to state a comparison just to try and prove their point.

UCONN could actually be an upgrade (all things considered). I mean, we are talking abt Maryland. Besides the DMV market, Maryland doesn't bring a great amount to the table. Besides that tv market, I am not sure why B10 would want Maryland. Maryland will be another Illinois type university...but hey, you'll be consistenly ranked as the worst uniforms in the conference (although I liked the black ones today).
