Maryland really needs the BIG10

  • ACC is too much into basketball, they don't pay enough. The north Carolina teams get all the foul calls. Big10 pays alot more. They really want to get into the Maryland\Washington dc market. The #9 media market in the world.

    Why not pick up Maryland?
    We have a hot recruiting base in both football, and basketball.
    Basketball won a championship in 2002. We won 11 games in football in 2002,2003. 2001.

    what do you Big10 fans think?

    Because in the last 2-3 years Maryland/DC is starting to really produce alot of football talent, Goldman, Darby, Tabor, Stefon Diggs, West Brown.
    2013, 2014, 2015 are flat out loaded. 247 has Maryland's top in state players and its a list of about 60 players.
    If you would have told me in 2002 that Maryland would have legit 45 div1 players for the 2013 year, i would have laughed in your face.
    But Coach Edsall , Coach Mike Locksley and all this Maryland coaches have to step their game up. Or kids like Williams Chest and others will leave the state. I feel this 2012 season is make or break for my Terps. If we can go back to the way Edsall ran his offense in Connecticut running, running, running the game to set up the pass. Maryland can be successful, because when Edsall first got to Maryland. He wanted to make a slash and so he got a wide open offensive guy, who didnt even like calling running plans.

    But i Know with Coach Locksley Terps will have a more balance NFL like pro offense. Which will help the O line develop quicker, Give Qb CJ Brown a clean pocket, and Guys like Diggs, West Brown and the play makers should find success in this offense. My main thing is just if i could talk to Coach Edsall one on one. is that he should go back to the way he coached offense at Uconn. Do what got him to the BCS bowl he went to. because there is going to be so much good young talent in Dc/MD this coming years.

    We arent screwed up nothing yet. like That Movie "Field of Dreams "
    If you build it they will come. Alot of this talented Dc/ Bmore , MD kids live 20-50 mins from the campus. If and When we can win, 7 games get to nice bowls. the players will stay. DMV 4 ever. Orioles, Wizards, Redskins/Ravens Terps EVERYTHING . EVERYBODY STAND UP.

  • lol lol lol are you 14? failure isn't an option? your backs are against the wall? what wall? long history of failure for maryland football, so it's definitely an option.

    do yourself a favor and root for the lacrosse team next weekend. if they play like they did yesterday, they'll be tough to beat. they get by duke on saturday and they win the title, imo.

  • The top talent in the MD/DC area could go to UMD, or they could go to a program worth playing for. That's UMD's biggest problem.

My dad is a UMD alum and I grew up watching Maryland bball and always liked Gary but he never got that team as good as they could be, even with winning a title. Want to talk about talent in the Baltimore/D.C. area? Look at the basketball talent. And they most certainly could be convinced to stay close to home.

  • Maryland's football issue lies in being in the ACC in a day and age where the ACC is bush league compared to the Pac, SEC, Big Ten, and Big XII. Maryland is like Oregon prior to Belotti where they can either be really awful or really great. We need a great coach that can and will stay, we had that in James Franklin but he left and now we're stuck with Edsall. What makes this even harder is that Ohio State and Penn State heavily recruit this area as well and more likely than not players who go there will never go to CP.

    I'd put Maryland's football ceiling around 9 wins. You guys are awful.
