Not really, you have no tradition so you try to get recruits based on superficial reasons. The bowl uni's were horrible. They should have worn black with the mirror helmet. Not that ugly ass green.

The Maryland uniforms I've seen were pretty ugly. I think most of Oregon's unis are cool and those new Texas A&M unis look pretty sweet in that dude's sig above^^

I agree some programs have a more well established tradition.Please keep in mind those traditions had to be built and that is exactly what oregon is doing now. I also think oregon shouldve went with the grey or black to go with those sick helmets.
