Oline recruiting was nonexistent under RR. No depth whatsoever. We will be taking 3-4 this year.

Yeah I guess you're right, just don't ignore the rest

Very true. It was a new coach coming to the Big Ten running a spread system who recruited smaller speed guys on the outside and failed at bringing in much talent on the offensive line. Sounds strangely familiar

Pfft... Ours are just as big, just.....wait for it......faster

Michigan is recruiting bigger players offensively than tOSU. Not sure if you are stating differently, but Michigan's offensive recruiting includes bigger players than tOSU.

It's just so ridiculous because it's not like Hoke's arrival caused a mass exodus. RichRod's recruiting was already poor by Michigan standards, and so many of those guys were already gone by the time Hoke arrived.

    The cupboard was beyond bare.

    2 things..

1- since Hoke arrived, there have been a decent amount of guys who have left the program.

2- The "cupboard was bare" was used when RR took over for Carr.. gotta get some new material

1- They realized they were spread guys who would never fit into Hoke's system, so they got out while they still had a future in football. Or they were inevitably going to leave the program because RR didn't spread a contagious passion for the Michigan football program like Hoke does. Players reported this numerous times.

2- Well, it's true. Can be applied to both scenarios.

Probably true on your first pt, just pointing out that while there wasn't a mass exodus when Hoke arrived- there surely was a good deal of attrition

Leaving Florida bare is like taking 8 inches off the hair of a supermodel. They will always have talent by default. When Michigan is left bare, well we all saw what happens.

Definitely. With the vibe Hoke has going around in the program, I don't expect much attrition in the future. Kids want to play for Hoke (and Mattison) just as much as they want to play for Michigan. The same cannot be said about Rich Rod.

Kellen Jones, Je'Ron Stokes, Tony Posada, Chris Barnett, Greg Brown, Carvin Johnson, Isaiah Bell, and Chris Rock. Stonum was kicked off the team, but I suppose he counts too.

9 players over the course of 2 years during a major transition isn't bad.

EDIT: I mean, FFS, we had starters transferring out under RichRod. Pitt took half our secondary one year. That's just disgraceful.

And Urban is SEC style players. Fast twitch, Powerful and fast. Yet still quite large. Granted even Urbs stated in his LOI presser that this year we have to get a bunch of O-Linemen, but we are in pretty good shape overall. Someone posted a pic of your roster on the last page. I did not realize how young your team really is.

Well that point didn't work out too well...Hoke went 11-2 in his first season, just sayin' whistling

Point being that when you have roster problems, they don't always show up at the same time. Screwing up in 2010 or 2011 recruiting might not hurt until 2013 or 2014.

Then again, schedule can have as much impact on a team's record as their talent that year. We've seen that firsthand at Michigan the past two years.

And that is irrelevant to what I was saying.

I never really mentioned tOSU's roster makeup until you brought them up, and considering the thread is about a Michigan commit I'm not sure why you did either.

But yes, Michigan is a very young and large team.
