Match the SEC teams with an NFL team you think is most similar

  • Alabama= Steelers
    Both have the most championships and were at their best in the 70's.

    Arkansas= Jets
    Respectable team with one title along time ago. Haven't been able to put it all together since despite a good fanbase.

    Auburn= Vikings+1 title
    Both have been decent historically and have had a lot of near misses. Vikings still haven't got the championship, though.

    Georgia= Bears
    Charter team, one modern title, great following.

    Florida= Packers
    Charter team, decent history, powerhouse in 90's/2000's

    LSU= Colts
    Good history, two great periods in 50s's/60's and 2000's

    Mississippi= Browns
    Good fanbase, powerhouse in 50's but have been bad since

    Miss St= Jaguars
    No fanbase, No history

    Tennessee= Cowboys
    Very good history, great in 90's, fallen on hard times as of late

    Vandy= Lions
    Always been terrible

    So. Car= Cardinals
    Weak history but have experienced a taste of recent success

    Kentucky= ?

    I'm pretty sure that San Fran won several titles and Auburn hasn't. The Vikings is a much better match. Maybe Buffalo. You know, always the brides maid.

    Steelers have won only superbowls. So to say they have won the most championships is FALSE, especially since Green Bay has the most championships all-time including super bowls. Here is a list for you.

    Packers= 13 Championships.
    Bears= 9 Championships
    Browns= 8 Championships including the AAFL
    Giants= 7 Champioships
    Steelers= 6 Championships (only super bowls)

    Green Bay is called Title Town for a reason. Decent history is an understatement by far.
    They won five world championships in the 60s under Vince including the first 2 super bowls. There is a reason that trophy is called the Lombardi trophy.

    They are the only community owned franchise in any sport.
    They have had every home game sell out since 1960.
    The Packers have one of the longest waiting lists for season tickets in professional sports with about 86,000 people, meaning there are now more names on the waiting list than there are seats at Lambeau Field.
    The average wait time for season tickets is said to be over 30 yearsyet since the team estimates only 90 tickets are turned over every year, if a name were to be added to the list today the estimated wait would extend well over 955 years. For this reason, it is not unusual for fans to designate a recipient of their season tickets in their wills or place newborn infants on the waiting list after receiving birth certificates.

    The Packers have the second most members in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with twenty-one. They trail only the Chicago Bears (with 27). They are also second in all time wins behind Chicago.

    But hey they only have a decent history.confused

  • LSU and the Ravens are a good fit considering success in the 50's and 60's (Baltimore Colts) and now 2000s.

    Hot Sauce

  • LSU= Giants/Ravens
    Bama= Steelers
    UF= Patriots
    UGA= Dallas
    Tenn= Bengals (talent, but management issues)
    USCe= 'Skins (trending^)
    Arky= Lions(most recent version)
    Ole Miss= Jags
    Miss St= Raiders

    CRgator1

  • Tennesse/Cowboys is perfect fit.

    South Carolina/Cardinals seems fitting too. I think the Jets would work as well - history of blunders, always underachieving, never quite got it together, good fanbase. Plus Rex and Spurrier are similar IMO, both brash and won titles elsewhere.

    I mean we were the 80's like them in the SEC.

    They do have more titles, but we've always played similar styles of football... and we aren't nearly as bad as your homer ass thinks we are.

  • FSU= the 49ers

    Both teams started their runs in the 80's, and both have had their share of great players. Both teams have hall fame coaches, and both teams just hired new young energetic coaches to breath new life into the program. Also for the ones who are trying to compare teams to the Jaguars do know the Jaguars have been better than teams like the Browns, Lions, Bills, Dolphins and Cowboys since they have come into the league in 95.

    I know one thing. Comparing Auburn to the Green Bay packers is about as bad of a comprison as I can think of. One is of them is a Blue Blood all time great great franchise. The other had Cam Newton fo a year.

    Nobody compared the two?

    Here's one: Nebraska = Cowboys. Traditional power, great in the 70's and 90's, pretty average for the past decade.
