Maurice Clarett: "I was living the NFL life in college"

  • MrWoodson said...

How hard could it be? Purdue beat you even with Terrelle Pryor.

Doesn't mean your scrubbie team under Rich Rod could have.

[Maurice Clarett] was a hard worker in practice and in games. But off the field, he was living a completely different life. "I took golf, fishing, and softball as classes," Clarett says. "Away from class, anything you can think of I did in my 13 months at Ohio State." Drugs and women were two of the things. Cars were another—he owned three of them at a time, including a brand-new Cadillac and Lexus. "I was living the NFL life in college," he says. "I got paid more in college than I do now in the UFL."

and the NCAA just let all that fly...... sigh and yet they pounded us in the early 2000s for dare i say barely half of what Maurice clarett is claiming.

So you only want to compare modern era stats?

Well then I guess you should know you lead us in this stat as well

Ohio Has been sanctioned 3 times in modern history

Violations occured probation period Bowl Ban? 1951-1955 1 year probation 2004 3 yr probation bowl ban 2008-2010 tattoo gate 3 year probation bowl ban

If you look close you will see you just got off probation when you started cheating again.

    Good stuff

Michigan 1 time in 2008-2009 for extra practices no bowl ban

    Congrats dipshit!

You lead 3-1 in that stat !!clap

Also you are preaching about knowing history , So you telling us that pre 1930's is not history?

Wonder what Word War 1 vets would have to say about that?

It says more about the type of person who flames a troubled kid years after the fact.. than it does about Mo C or Tressel or his university who didn't turn their back.

Guess what.. This story has a happy ending.

The moral to the story, the reason for the book, the true story written by Clarett is that he did the deeds. Takes full responsibility. It was him who made the decisions, chose his path, accepts responsibility, and paid the consequences.

After being kicked off the team, squandered his athletic talent, his intellect, his full ride, he chose a path that led him to prison.

It is bad karma to flame someone who made this much positive progress with their life and the lives of others. Might want to rethink this troll.

Well said. But, what you ask would be taking the high road. Do all Buckeyes - or at least most, give the same consideration for other player issues outside your program?

Good for Maurice, but what it all boils down to is. tOSU SHOULD have known what was going on, after all "high profile players demand high profile compliance" I've read your boards, and you people are very good at throwing stones out of that glass house of yours.

If I am not mistaken here, I don't see anyone "flaming" MC .. Just Ohio in a whole! And how you guys cheated for pretty much the entire 10 years of Tress.

Fact of the matter is MC sounds like he will be fine in life. Good for him!

Who's mad? I'm not mad at all!

We are talking about a decade of cheating from Ohio! Why should I be mad?

The fact that you idiots keep posting in our boards about this 26-21 record? Not even mad about that. Just shows how stupid you guys can be.

Lol. You have one circumstance of Jim Tressel violating rules and suddenly it equals Ohio State cheating for a decade. You are a sore loser. Guess what Sparky. At the end of the day, Beanie Wells is better than Mike Hart. Troy Smith is better than Chad Henne. Teddy Ginn Jr. is better than Mario Manningham. Braxton Miller is better than Denard Robinson. Hyde is better than Touissant. Tressel is better than Carr. Meyer is better than Hoke. In every possible way, in every world or dimension, reality or alternate, our team is and will continue to be better than yours. Our players are better. Our coaches are better. It's a new world son. Reality is such that your team is in a state with mediocre football talent and it has to compete with MSU for that talent. Your team continues to be considered to be "elite" because of its history. But mark my words: your team is fighting a constant uphill battle when it comes to competing with mine. Our team is in a football powerhouse state, and we take that talent at will. We are also more relevant as it pertains to recent history. 7 of our last 8 seasons have come with ten wins or more. We've been to the most BCS bowls of any team and have the most BCS wins. Recruits hear the names Ohio State and Urban Meyer and they think "BIG TIME." Good luck trying to measure up to that. My guess is your pissy little "you cheated" taunt comes from the desperation of knowing that you have and will continue to play second fiddle to THE Ohio State University. Your glory days are over. Welcome to the new world, son.

yea, all that integrity and academia of the BIG is just a BIG PILE OF censored so all you BIG fans should just lay off that crap for let's say, until you actually win the championship two times in a row. then we'll over look it here in the lowly cheating and stupid SEC.

Not sure it's fair to lump in the entire conference based on OSU's way of thinking

Should have known? You do realize Mo C never suited up for a second year. Dismissed after year one is EVIDENCE that they looked the issue head on and acted in a timely manner.

That's interesting. In fact, if you take away Maurice Clarett, Troy Smith and Terrelle Pryor, the three highest profile OSU players sanctioned for taking extra benefits during the Tressel era, I wonder what the Vest's record would have been. My guess is something significantly less noteworthy than what he is given credit for. Whoever said "cheaters never win" clearly never met Jim Tressel.

From a program that just got off of probation I find this post hilarious.

What even funnier us that even with cheating it was still one of the worst five year spans in your programs tired old history.

Self reported and suspended from the team. Old news that was already reported to the NCAA. Good try though.
