Mega Millions ticket purchase thread

  • Everyone have their tickets? Lump cash sum is $389.8 million. Have an office ticket pool going, it's fun to think about winning.
    What would you do with the money?

  • First time I ever bought a Lotto ticket... I wanted to make sure the lump pay out was worth the investment.

  • First I would obviously take the lump sum.

    I would then set up my family with paid off houses, cars, and whatever else they needed/wanted. A portion would go to charities, of course.

    I honestly don't know what I would do. Probably start traveling a lot. Have always wanted to visit Stonehenge, so I guess that would be my first stop. Something about rocks on top of other rocks interests me.

    I would build a 2 bedroom apartment over a 300 car garage.... state of the art on 100 acres... I would build race tracks and enduro courses and never leave my property... except to go to my club and Chains of Claim Jumpers

    Yeah, I would obviously give money to my family. Then give to charity as well. I'd love to travel, but I'd also love to open some kind of business. I've always wanted to own a coffee shop/bookstore combo (locally owned, obviously).

  • I would take care of my family. I would set aside money for my nieces and nephews on a sliding scale based on education level. Chump change with a HS diploma, million dollars for a Doctorate.

    I wouldn't move, I already love my land and house, but I would buy a vacation house in northern Michigan and one in southern Florida.

  • buy plane ticket to vegas for me and any friends\family who wanted to go. Put $1,000,000 on 00, just so I could say I did. Also play a $1,000,000 dollar hand of black jack. Build a nice house (Nothing crazy just like 4 bed) in Fayettville AR, Build a house outside Chicago. Take care of family (house car etc). Get a new truck F-150, a Harley, and BMW. A couple toys AR-15, 4 wheeler etc. Then the biggie is a bond for $1,000,000 so my daughter can go to college, and another for $25,000,000 on her 25th birthday. Large donations to St. Jude and Vetrans charities, Also might sink some into cancer research.

    Other possibilities for blowing it:
    Pay for that Nigerian prince to get his money back
    Buy Rhode Island
    buy more property on the moon (I already have over 100,000 acres)
    look into buying the Chicago Bulls, Bears, Whitesox, or my own NASCAR team
    Invest in NASA with the understanding that I get a free ride into space whenever I want
    Buy a zoo

  • I actually pitched in 5 bucks hate giving money to lottery, only second time ever last draw. We had 15 games total, and had one number hit on one of them, 14 went scoreless. Thats like Ohio State vs the SEC

    Secondly, I would go to work on Monday like nothing happened, call my law firm in Chicago and start setting up a trust.
    If the lottery doesn't blow my cover (which I know they will cause it is part of the "lottery terms of agreement") nobody would know. I would act like I just bought my new truck and built my modest but stylish 2500-3000 square foot house on credit with some land, then set up my parents and in laws so they are good. The sister in-law don't get d*ck cause she is a self entitled b*tch and I truly can't stand her. Then I would put some focus to a fund which digs at my gut and that is single mothers with repair expenses. I would run it through a church or something where if a single mother has a car break down or furnace quits working or stuff like that they can call "somewhere" and get it fixed for free. They have enough on their plate without added expenses.

    Well I live in Lexington KY for the next 48 Hrs then AR. But I was born in West Chicago, grew up in St. Charles and my dad still lives in Glendale heights. I had family out by rockford, Paw paw actually.
