They made a huge mistake firing Ron Mason. I am sure you might have bad memories of the backfields that he put put together.
Maroney and Barber III was probably the best backfield I have seen in the last 15 years.
While the media was all over Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown, Bama held them to under 100 yards while those two got over 300 in the bowl game against bama.
Again, sorry for the bad memories.

double edit: everyone knew they were running and couldn't stop them even with a bad line and qb.

fair enough. Minny quickly became a doormat after they fired Mason.
It is hard to compare the best backfield because most of the ones in the arguement had great QBs and OLs. I always try to throw those two in the mix because they really had neither and no one could really stop them.

Tech gonna screw me. I lose this game, I had a bad day. I win this game, I had a pretty good day. I was so sure that Minnesota was just that bad that I put 24 confidence points on Tech.

me too considering TT held WV to 14 points, Texas to 22 and OK St to 21.
They did give up big points to some of the other teams though but they are playing Minnesota!!!
