Why doesn't Mercedes make sports cars anymore. They just care about looks. Man put some horses on a E600 engine. Put a manual box in that join. Price tag 96'000 abd watch it sell like hotcakes. Benz needs to step their game up. Call it E6. And gas it up with luxury and power.

The C63 is larger than Porsches, Ferrari's, Lotus', etc. A Mercedes SLR isn't audacious enough? You make no sense.

Ok, here's my crazy out of left field opinion.

Screw getting new cars. Buying new is dumb because the second you drive it off the lot, you just took a huge loss. Leasing is dumb because you can't modify anything at all and you'll put a ton of money towards the car without being able to sell it and get some back. My other problem with new cars is that everyone's jaw drops until it's about 4 years old, then it's not very impressive anymore. I would much rather get a pre owned and have people think I spent a lot of money 3 or 4 years ago.

So here's my out of the box suggestion. Get a car that will drop jaws forever. Get a car that girls can't recognize, but that they will think is expensive. Finally, get a car that's easy and cheap to maintain, which the mercedes and the beamer aren't.

The car I would get? A late sixties to early seventies series I Jaguar XJ6 with a chevy v8 swap. You can find these Jags in decent running condition and cosmetically fine for well under $10,000. You can find one with a blown engine for nothing. Buy a salvage title LS1 Camaro, and swap in the engine, transmission, alternator, and anything else from chevy you can get in there. Most of the problems with the early series Jags will be solved with modern chevy parts. Your xj6 will lose 200 pounds and you'll be putting out 325 horsepower. It'll probably run in a straight line with any sedan outside of the ones with forced induction. Even if you redo the entire Jag cosmetically, you'll still only spend a fraction of what you would spend on a new car, you'll be completely different, and it'll be as cheap as maintaining a chevy. Awesome, huh? Plus the series one jag is sexy and the v8 conversion is well known and easy to do.
