Meyer: Braxton is better than Tebow and Cam...

  • Moephius said...

    The entire quote..

"Braxton Miller is dynamic. He’s the most dynamic athlete I’ve ever coached."

Damn, more dynamic than Percy Harvin?... So when he's in a kids living room, does he now say "You could be the next Braxton Miller" instead of "You could be the next Percy Harvin"?

  • We don't yet know what his legacy will be when its all said and done, none of us. But people overanalyzing the quote from Meyer are just trying to ruffle feathers.

Bottom line is Braxton is a dynamic player and Meyer is just trying to show his faith in him. End of story.

Not disagreeing with you here, but its premature for Meyer to already say Braxton is the most dynamic player he's coached. Kid hasnt even started a full season yet.

  • I don't get all the hype for Braxton Miller. From his own coach, I can understand that, but the media types are blowing this guy like he's an All-American already. Maybe he does have all this amazing talent and ability, but it hasn't been realized yet. So maaaaaaaybe just tone it down a little bit. MSU was the best defense he faced last year, and here was his stat line:

    5/10 for 56 yards
    1 INT
    0 TD
    -27 rushing

Not exactly the stuff of greatness.

Yeah it's just coach speak.. Coaches talk up their players all the time.. People just take shots at the power schools all of the time.

i think meyer is going on natural ability not stats from last yr...the kid was a 18 yr old true frosh....

this yr he will be good and the next 2 he could be great....

he is a perfect morph of t pryor and troy smith...he throws better then pryor and runs better then smith....

but, time will tell....i do agree with you about waiting and seeing how he does in the spread before we build an altar in his honor

It was also during a downpour most of the game and Jim Bollman was his OC. Pair him with a coach who knows how to utilize his skillset and give him a qb coach who didn't used to be a audio video nerd and you might have a recipe for success with Miller.

As a true freshman, Troy still didn't have a position. Brax is light-years ahead of where Troy was at the same stage in his career.

To watch his highlights as freshman in a predictable, pre-historic offense and come away saying he is a "poor man's" anything just comes off as jealous/ignorant, IMO. I seriously doubt there are many teams in America who wouldn't love to have Braxton Miller on their team.

Not saying he's better than Tebow, Newton, or anyone else at this point..but come on you have to give the kid SOME credit.

    great vid norsk!

the kid has some great instincts...

my fave is the run against um, he made that defender whiff, bigtime!

Meh, I don't know about "great." I think his ceiling is more Terrelle Pryor than it is Cam Newton. We shall see.

hmmmmm, not sure i agree with that one...he looks to have better quickness and moves then pryor, but good ol t.p was a beast to take down...and the speed for a guy that size is very rare....

    hope ur right tho!

at the end of the day, if he can play smart, run and throw when warranted, he will help us win many games!

Pryor was 31-4 with 3 B1G titles and 2 BCS Bowl wins including a Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl MVP's and 3-0 vs Michigan. Don't act like he wouldn't be the greatest QB in Spartan History with numbers like that.

And despite all of that, he was merely a good, not great QB. Cam Newton, he was not. Do you disagree?

Was he Cam Newton or Tim Tebow? No, but he was also handcuffed by the staff. He was better than just good though.
