Malcolm Lewis is the 2nd best WR in the state IMO. Angelo Louis Jean is top 5. Robert Lockhart is a stud. So you are flaming over two former basketball players Jontavious Carter (6-5) & DMauri Jones (6-4) who have sick films / red zone potential and Herb Waters who FSU wanted badly... (but i'm sure never held an offer, Lulz) but flame away though, dumbass!

Way before even considering Miami, Tracy Howard said Lewis was hands down the best WR he had ever covered. That's including Amari Cooper and some other studs. Waters might not have blazing speed but he is put together really well, runs great routes, has moves for days, great hands, etc... Speed can be overrated. Last we heard, AJL's head coach said he is extremely confident that he will get into Miami without having to go the prep route.
I like you as a poster for the most part but your constant flaming of Miami grows old. Just because you follow recruiting & know football doesn't make you an expert. A lot of us are in that same exact boat. You allow your feelings towards Miami to cloud your judgment way too often.

FSU wanted Herb Waters badly? He camped at FSU and UF and left without an offer. His HC is a former Gator. UF could have had anyone they wanted on that entire team. AJL is the only above average WR in that class. He's going to be a really good player if he qualifies.
Lamp, are you just repeating rumors from your board that people threw out there to make everyone feel better about the two and three star players Golden loaded most of Miami huge class with? Never heard a thing about FSU wanting Waters, or UGA wanting Carter. Even the highly rated guys were passed on by the other two instate schools. McCord waited til the bitter end to get the greenlight from UF. All his Tampa buddies are coming to UF. Kid claimed UF his leader forever without an offer. Once it was obvious it wasn't going to happen, he settled on Miami. Even South Carolina cooled on him.
Jelani Hamilton was openly rooting for FSU after commiting to Miami. No secret that McCord was a huge UF fan and Hamilton wanted FSU bad, not the other way around. Players like that completely skewed Miami's class rankings. Literally 25+ of Miami's class wouldn't/didn't get a sniff from the other two instate schools. How many of those kids went to camp after camp at other big ACC and SEC schools and left without an offer? When you look at a kids offer list and it's Western Kentucky, Temple, Southern Miss, FAU, Purdue and MIAMI, somethings wrong. Of course those types of kids are going to jump on Miami the second they're offered. Why do you think so many jumped onboard so early? They were shocked a program thats supposed to have the stature and pull of the "U" would actually offer them. Golden didn't even have to compete head to head with the vast majority of your class. To me, that's not a good sign if I'm a Canes fan.
Luckily for Golden, the state is so stacked this year that even after several teams have their pick, Miami should still sign great prospects by default. Miami's best recruits were kids who were likely going to end up at Miami even if Shalala was the coach. Duke was born and bred a Cane. He and AJL commited to Shannon, right? Hell, even Tennessee and Louisville came in and took some kids that should have been Cane locks.. The LB and the DL that were long time commits.
Northrup was another that almost ended up at Miami by default. That is, until FSU came in last minute after ignoring him most of the process, yet still stole him away. He was UNC bound if not FSU. Miami lost their two best LB prospects, and one of their best DL prospects during the process. Who did ya'll sign at DT? I just don't get why all the Miami fans are pumping Golden as some amazing recruiter that has Miami "back" when two thirds of his class was NOT Miami calibur.. Atleast not the Miami of old.
Why not save some of those ships for big time players this year? Why not take some of those ham and eggers in December, instead of April and May? If getting Miami back to the Miami of old is what the fans and Golden are expecting, they'll have to increase the talent level throughout the roster. I just don't see where Golden did anything different than what Shannon did recruiting wise. Did this class increase the overall talent level of Miami's roster, or just replace the few talented players that bolted this year?.
Miami's had some great players the last few years as it is.. It's the rest of the roster that has sucked. That isn't any different than what Miami's class looks like. 5 or 6 really good players and 25 guys that people will say... "who?" Competition and depth breed greatness. How are those good players going to get any better competing against low level players for starting jobs? And save the "Golden did his own evals." That's great in theory, but why did every other proven coach that saw these kids at camps decide not to offer, or push at all for the kids that did end up in the class to switch?

Who exactly was the last "RB stud" that you guys have had lately that has been "relevant"? And to FSUFSU since it seems you must be 1 of these "* lovers" what has you guys top 5 classes the last couple years gotten you! NOTHING just like UMs. Until UM or FSU wins the ACC &/or BCS game or NC, this is all irrelevant!
