Levonte “Kermit” Whitfield has decided to open up his recruiting options, so the Orlando Jones receiver has decommitted from the University of Miami to “see what else is out there,” he said.

Aye, it's a win-win for Jimbo. He can practice with the team and if he isn't good enough he doesn't have to make the roster or count against the 85. It's basically oversigning with no downside. Whitfield kid could get a track scholly anywhere, I'm sure FSU(and running track with his cousin) is an appealing option regardless if he plays football or not. You act like this hasn't been done before; have you never heard of Marquis Goodwin or Latwan Anderson?

I agree that this is good if anything for Miami. The kid is a midget too. Maybe 5'8 150.
The situation Miami is soon to be in is not for specialty guys and tiny tots. They need to be signing sturdy framed guys who can play 2 positions and special teams.

I agree we need to load up on O-LINE and D-LINE, we haven't go depth in those positions.
