    University of Miami president Donna Shalala issued a statement Monday evening in regards to the pending NCAA investigation.

    The investigation concluded "''Based upon our review, it is our opinion that the current assertions in the U. Miami Investigative Record are not based on evidence that is derived, directly or indirectly, from the depositions of Mr. Allen or Mr. Huyghue"

    The investigation concluded 20% of the evidence would be thrown out. Which of course means 80% of the evidence stands. Still a ways to go.

    My man, it really is an interesting situation. The NCAA needs to tread lightly and not subject themselves to more litigation. On the other hand, Emmert seems to be digging his heels in and is adamant that 80% of their case remains strong. This could be his waterloo, and Miami and Shalala appear poised to beat his bone apart.

    In the midst of all this, isn't the NCAA about to announce sanctions on Oregon?

    lol If 80% of the case against Miami was intact, the NCAA would have never resorted to these tactics to make a case against Miami.

    The NCAA is screwed.

    This, although it is the state of PA, not PSU with the lawsuit (but that is way worse for the NCAA if PA has standing). The NCAA is in deep.

    If Emmert lets Miami off lightly, probably strengthens PSU's position. If they hammer Miami, probably another suit to contend with. Either way Emmert is screwed, and that may be the one thing that all fans on this board can enjoy together.

  • Bama has been screaming about the ncaa since the 90s and they were much worse back then when the media was smaller.

    They were sued and they paid and it did nothing to the sanctions bama got. We were super optimistic tho that the ncaa would follow it's own rules, but they don't. If anything, emmert is BY FAR the most open and malleable ncaa president ever.

    How does it change the psu case?

    Losing in court to whom? Because if the NCAA loses to the State of PA, the sanctions are gone. If you mean Miami, the PA vs NCAA would be done before the Miami case, but extra lawsuits = extra time and money for the NCAA's lawyers and it is just another chance to invalidate them.

    Court has no say so in ncaa. Ncaa follow their own rules, not the court.

    But even if ur right, sanctions will already b served by the time anything is decided. Plus ncaa will hold a grudge.
