And Bird was pretty well hated when he played [I know cause I hated him at the time, but with the objectivity that comes with time, he's one of my all time favorite players. And rest assured his game, just like MJ's thrived on being something of a prick.

Loved watching him play throughout his career, but the HOF speech gave me an entirely different view of him. Still though, I think he is probably the best that's ever played. Would love to have saw what He could do without the cast around him though.

See as a life long fan who knew pretty much everything about him, i would have been shocked if the HOF speech went down any other way
