  • Nova, this based on any kind of "inside" or "premium" info, are is this just your gut feel/evaluation of the situation at hand.

Would not surprise me if he committed to FSU soon. Would not suprise me if he committed to Michigan soon either. Regardless, either squad will be fine with or without him.

If I'm being greedy for a second here, would definitely love to see EJ at Michigan playing SAM. Kid is a good one. Congrats to him if he does in fact pick FSU.

interesting. Steve indicated not to long ago on Michigan's 247 board that according to EJ himself, Mich was his slight favorite with FSU right there.

Like I said, I think at this point it's one of those two schools. EJ is visiting FSU from the 2nd to the 5th, then Michigan from the 13-14th. We will find out soon.

I don't usually do this unless Im certain but if I had to guess EJ Levenberry is all Nole and will be one soon

From what I can gather his father wants him at FSU and EJ has always really liked FSU a bunch and has for a few years now

Michigan is a great school on the upswing so its no surprise here that you made such an impression, but FSU got on EJ so early and now that EJ is back at FSU for the week I would imagine he gets all his questions/concerns answered and either commits or re-names FSU a co-leader/leader again

We will see but FSU has made its move and Im not sure how anybody else is going to overcome it

Maybe Bushido will drop in and give his thoughts but I feel pretty strongly again in terms of landing EJ, visiting for a whole week is pretty rare for a young man to do

Good luck though, clearly a Michigan/FSU battle at this point..... hopefully this thread doesn't backfire on me cool

  • I mean I hope EJ goes Blue obviously, but it isn't the end of the world if he goes to FSU.

Michigan's LB class last year was excellent, and Michigan's feeder school Cass Tech has a couple D1 LB's that will be Blue next year. Not to mention McCray and Gedeon are likely Blue this year also.

I would agree though NoVa I would think if FSU wants EJ as bad as Michigan, he will head to Tallahassee.

Cass Tech has 3 LB's that will get FBS looks, only one is good enough to play at Michigan imo and he's a transfer from Farmington Hills Harrison. None of the 3 are locks to go to Michigan though imo. None are the combination of size and caliber of athlete of Royce Jenkins Stone and none are the pure 'backer play-making machine like James Ross.

We took 4 LB'ers in 2012, already have 1 in 2013 and really only have a real need for 1 more imo. I think Gedeon is probably a silent commit, and the only other LB the coaches really want or would make room for is Levenberry imo.

Mike Farrell was making it sound like EJ really likes Michigan and that was his favorite but that his pops wants him at FSU. If that is really the case, I like Michigan, because when he comes back up to Ann Arbor on the 13th and 14th with Mom and Dad there is no doubt in my mind it will blow their socks off and "sell" Dad so to speak. Who knows if Mike Farrell is right though.

Yeh I'm no scout, but I just heard that they had some good LB's, haven't seen their tape yet either. I will say though, even if the kid isn't a lock to Michigan now, kids who go to CT always seem to end up at Michigan if they want them. Plus if he went to FHH, he's probably boys with Funchess, and Oje.

Hoke and Mattison recruiting a defensive player from Cass will have to have serious reservations about Michigan not to go there IMO. And I'm certainly down for more Biggs esque LB's. Not big, but that kid has some speed and instincts I haven't seen in a while from a LB. His tape is mighty impressive.

Well two of the 2014 Cass Tech LB's were at a Nike combine recently- one measured in at 6'0, the other 5'11. Neither over 205 lbs. Not exactly the size that Michigan is looking for imo. Both could grow, so you never know. The Hosey kid from FHH that transferred is much bigger, probably around 6'1, 220, so he's got a better shot you'd think.

If there is a kid at Cass Tech that Michigan wants though it will be tough for another school to beat them.

Another thing...two of Michigan's starting LB'ers are just going into their sophomore seasons, and the back-up at one of those spots is a Redshirt Frosh (Antonio Poole). Joe Bolden and Kaleb Ringer also both enrolled early and the early returns on both are very good. Michigan is pretty good in terms of scholarship numbers at LB right now and in terms of youth.

Yep, and talent. RJS has ridiculous upside, and Ross and Bolden are both just players. I also think Ringer will be a thumper.

Remember 2014 kids are still just sophmores. Definitely room for growth. But I agree i'm not going to annoint them future BCS prospects yet.
