I don't understand why MSU fans think that we can't handle them getting Pittman and Burbridge. Have you seen our class? We are dominating most of the recruiting battles this year.

I read like a 4 pg thread on mgoblog claiming he was too dumb to get into UM and he didn't have a committable offer because of that. It was like 1 guy posted it at some point in time and then it got repeated over and over until it was taken as fact. I'm not sure if the UM guys there ever got over it. Then, when I was listening to 97.1 The Ticket, it made its way onto the air. I mean, come on.

It's a great recruiting class. It's not so much about UM missing the guy as it is MSU getting him. UM fans don't want to see MSU recruiting well and that's just what Dantonio has done. MSU may not be getting top 10 classes but we're looking at another top 25 or top 20 class by Dantonio. I'll take it. I can remember when JLS was getting random players from around the country that nobody had heard of... that was depressing.

It's the comments like "If AB would have gotten his grades up, he would have been blue" or "Pittman tried to commit, but we turned him down."

Essentially denying that MSU has won a single head-to-head battle this year in recruiting. You guys have won most of them, but the refusal to acknowledge even one in MSU's favor is pretty annoying and adds credence to our general gripe that UM fans will never admit to getting beat at anything, there's always an excuse. It's just weak man.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

What did MSU fans say about Wormley? I wasn't in it.

I have given reasons as to why I don't think UM will be good. It just turns into more flames. I did it last week.

Denard hasn't played in a pro-style offense at a competitive level. In high school he did? Ok. I watched him misread his own defense and throw pics in the spring game. You know, the worst defense in the Big Ten the past few years.

Speaking of the defense, you have a good to potentially great D-line. After that it gets shaky. Real quick. A bunch of unproven guys all over that defense that have been coached at a questionable level. Remember that teddy bear thing? What was that all about? Strange stuff.

Your special teams have been borderline pathetic. Worthy blocked a FG last year against you guys. Zoltan was a great punter but he's gone. Your kickers look pretty mediocre. When was the last great Michigan kicker? It's been a struggle over the years.

Your offense was potent last year but it's a big unknown this off season. Again, Denard at QB and no real back up. You have some very average RB's and some small playmaker slot WR's. Solid OL, probably the strength on offense and maybe the team. The WR's are good but losing Stonum will make you thin there.

Again, I've made these comments on here. You're just making things up. It's convenient. It's a quick reason to hate me. I just say what I feel and I don't sugar coat it. SpartanRocky is a mod and he's a nicer guy. He sugar coats it. It's what you guys are used to with the UM press all these years. It's why you hate Valenti and guys like me. We get under your skin with comments like, "nah, they just aren't that good". Noooooo! Never! Arg!

It turned into a discussion that ripped Wormley as a person and player. Didn't say anything about him coming to Michigan. It was basically all OSU and MSU and very disrespectful to the guy.

    1. I don't know how many times we've said this. WE'RE NOT RUNNING A STRICT PRO-STYLE OFFENSE. Borges has said it many many many times. We're gonna be using the shotgun a lot, and he said at his PC a couple days ago that we'll see a lot of what we saw last year with the triple options and QB reads.

    2. The Spring Game shows nothing. It's stupid for you to bring that up, because obviously we're not going to practice the part (large part) of our offense that we already know. Why would we reinforce what we're already good at? I would rather have them practice the part that is not as strong so it gets better. That's what you do in practice, and the Spring Game is practice.

    3. You can admit our D-line is good, I appreciate that. And yes, the rest is shaky. I'm not arguing with that. We have a lot of unproven guys who have been coached by a little feather-duster with great hair. This is where my faith comes in. I believe that the guys are talented, and with coaches who coach technique and don't play an idiotic 3-3-5, they could be average. I'm not expecting shut-down corners or monster LB's. I'm just hoping for average.

    4. This is the only time I think I've ever thought that you overestimate Michigan. Our kickers are not "pretty mediocre," our kickers are awful. That's true. 4-14 is not mediocre. We have an all-big ten candidate for Punter, but he's the most hardcore partier of a punter I've seen in a while, so he's suspended for 4 games. There is a ray of hope in Matt Wile, who punted 45 yards average in HS and will also be our go-to guy for PK. We'll see. Our return game is solid, though, with Dileo, Gallon, and Odoms all being threats.

    5. This is pretty much the same point as point one, but obviously it's unknown. No real backup? Wrong. I would much rather have Devin Gardner as my back-up than Maxwell. He's an amazing guy, and he has a lot of potential. He didn't do very well last year, good argument. That was his freshman year. I'm not too worried.

You say that you've made these comments on here, but I've never seen them. It's not that hard to just explain your reasoning. In most of the threads I've seen recently, all you say is "they suck." If I'm bashing OSU or MSU, I actually explain myself. SpartanRocky is simply more knowledgable and takes the time to tell us his reasoning. Was that really so hard? Now we can have a discussion about football, not about who has the longer schlong.

And it really confuses me how you say that you've been reasonable and just voicing your opinion and you get flamed. You're not the victim. You're the one who comes into every thread about Michigan and tells us how much we suck. You don't expect to get flamed? Really? huh

For Burbridge we lost out on him straight up. I'm not saying we didn't and I don't know why some won't admit it, but the Pittman stuff is said because several of our insiders have said that Pittman was close to committing to us but we told him no. I don't know about you but I tend to trust our insiders.

This is my problem, i never made any of those comments and neither have a lot of the michigan fans. Did some of them make those comments? Sure, but why label the entire Michigan fan base because a few said those things. I could go on tRCMB and find many ridiculous comments that Spartan fans have made toward Michigan. Should I do that and then hold the entire Spartan fanbase accountable for the ridiculous comments of a few?

Yeah, there are comments like that. There always will be. Every Michigan commitment has aroused dumb comments from MSU fans, and vice versa. That's the world of the interwebz.

I would've loved to have Burbridge. He's beyond a stud. I apologize for any Michigan fans saying that, but it's not surprising. We can't really control what they say.

They will both be very good players for you, congrats.

Reading a thread about a MSU recruit on mgoblog is something I can't do since I'm a MSU fan?

Why? I don't mind reading stuff about UM anyway. I enjoy talking to guys on here like Big M, Foot B Dude, and y2kmgrad. They post on tRCMB as well. There's nothing wrong or obsessive about it.

I've also read and posted on other message boards like Wisconsin, Illinois (I have several UI friends/acquaintances), PSU, well basically the Big Ten. I know you UM fans want me to say that I am obsessed with UM, but I guess I would be obsessed with every Big Ten fan base. Spin, spin, spin away.

You just want to believe that. It's some sort of pride that you get from being a Michigan fan. Like you're important because you're a fan of a school that is rivals with another school that you like to make fun of. You get a pleasurable feeling from it.

"Ha! He reads mgoblog and talks about UM so he's obsessed and I'm a fan of that school, which basically means that I'm better than him!!" I know your type. They come by the thousands around Detroit. I grew up there, I know the difference and you can see it once you get out of the area and take a look back.

After he visited with Funchess in May I believe? The word from everywhere was that he was leaning to UM.
