It's much more likely that Stanford ends up blue than he ends up anything else.

I have a growing sense that we might take 2 WRs, but I think Stanford being in this class will come down to how long we have to wait for him. I also get the sense we're overestimating the Washington-Stanford package deal and underestimating Stanford's interest in Tennessee, LSU, and Miami. Ohio State may also get back into the mix. I just don't feel he's anywhere near a sure bet, and because of potential depth problems (in coming years) we can't afford not to take a WR in this class. We've already missed by slow-playing Malik Gilmore, it'd be a shame to miss on Chesson, too.

Burbidge looks too much like Mario Manningham to me to pass up.

I think he's better than Mario was as a junior in high school. It's a matter of whether or not he'll qualify. We can't afford to have depth issues in 2013 at WR with a new QB.

If Burbridge doesn't qualify, and he's the only WR (or one of 2 WRs) in this class, those issues haven't been addressed.

Would you characterize Burbridge's situation as being similar to Rawl's last year?

Not completely. With the Burbridge, we can still lose him; whereas, it wasn't like that with Rawls. Rawls wasn't going to choose Central over Michigan. If we back off, there's other suitors that will step up. Also, I'm not sure where Rawls was at this point last year, but Burbridge is going to have a lot of work to do.

  • I love Burbridge's film. Great body control in the air, shows good concentration and ability to catch the ball in traffic, great hands and good game speed

He also seems to have good vision. I'm left wondering whether he'd be able to immediately return kicks at the college level.

Not sure where he's taking that info from, but Scout just released an article about him where he lists 6 teams, not 5, and FSU is not mentioned in the 6. Maybe Speed combined UF and PSU and came up with FSU?

Plus- I thought I remember seeing a interview with Jordan, not too long ago that he said something along the lines of: I have enough confidence in my own abilities, to not worry about other commitments.

I coulda swore I read this within the last 2 days, maybe even yesterday. It MAY have even been asked to him directly referencing Kalis. Tho- i'm not as confident in that last statement.

I'm not too worried about Mr. Diamond just yet.

Yes I read the same thing...He doesn't care who else commits he says.

Wow, I thought he recently had a top 3 of OU, Florida and Michigan.

Edit: that was a top 3 with others still in play.

It makes sense that OU didn't make the cut.

With good WR depth, Durron Neal and Sterling Shepard on board, and 2 other WRs in the previous class, Oklahoma probably told him that they aren't interested in another WR.

He, and ScoutExile, were making reference that a lot of the current Scout.com reporters are former (or current) beauty pageant contestants.

Your fishing stoner. The Minnesota and Indiana coaches are on more "solid ground" than tosu coaches right now, but the difference is Michigan has more prestige, traditon... than those schools. Midwest kids look at Michigan, ND, Penn State, tosu first then look at schools such as Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan State...

And with Michigan bringing in Hoke, who they already know and have experience with, it is a big difference. Being he is a "Michigan Man" he will be afforded more time to make this Michigan again.

Scout had comments from Stanford and Washington saying that they were surprised by the way the CBS article was taken and that while they do like MSU they can't really see themselves going there. They also stated distance was a factor and insinuated that it would be a UM/o$u battle, with U-M slightly on top for now.

I thought it was funny when they asked Washington about State AND HE SAID " I REALLY CAN'T SEE MYSELF GOING THERE"

  • I'm sure people have seen the Kalis link from ESPN, but I love these quotes:

"I can't go there (Ohio State) and take penalties for something I never did," Kalis told ESPN.com on Monday.

Kalis said he visited Michigan last weekend and called coach Brady Hoke from the "M" logo at the middle of the field at Michigan Stadium to inform him he was coming to Ann Arbor.

I just watched his film the other day and the kid is a complete mauler. He just grabs on to a kid and doesn't let go until he's on top of him. I think he needs work on his pulling technique, but that should be easy to correct.

I haven't been this excited about a recruit since Henne.
