While all the schools he's still considering do all have conventional music composition/theory majors that tend to focus on composition in a more traditional sense, Thorton is the only one that in addition to those conventional majors also offers a BM or BS in a Music Industry major. It's something that focuses both on contemporary audio engineering and has encompassing focuses on the business aspect of the industry as well as marketing and promotion. It's a highly unique program that is distinct from what's being offered at the others he's considering and by all reports it was something he walked away highly impressed by after his official visit here. I also, don't think it's much of a stretch to say of universities he's considering USC is obviously in the best location to establish those connections in the industry.
