The real question - will Dantonio get fired when he goes 5-7 this season or will his two good seasons keep him off the hotseat for one more year?

Of the seven games I predicted MSU to lose, two of the teams (ND, Nebraska) crushed you in 2011 and two others (UM, Wisky) are road games. That leaves Boise State, Iowa and OSU. Boise has a pretty good track record of beating very good AQ teams to open the season (e.g. Oregon, Virginia Tech, Georgia) and OSU was missing almost their entire offense last year when you beat them 10-7. Prior to 2011, when was the last time you beat the Bucks? The only pick I can see maybe being controversial is the loss to Iowa, but you guys have struggled against them historically. IIRC they crushed you in 2010 despite the fact that you probably were the better team on paper. But, fine, I will give you Iowa. I guess that puts my prediction for MSU at 6-6. See, I can be reasonable!

They can't see it, but you could be right. The games you had them losing are all potentially tosss-up games. If the ball bounces wrong a couple times, MSU could be hurting. MSU can't just out talent those teams. That is without getting in their new China-doll QB. Every throw he had last year was at home in blow outs. The only time he face a real defense in a game situation where MSU wasn't blowing someone out, he had to leave the game due to injury, and then he can't get through the spring injury free...

According to these UM fans, MSU will lose every toss up game. One of the reasons being the ball may take a couple bad bounces.

I know you're the type of fan that harps on injuries and I really think you want kids to get injured, but your wishful thinking is unlikely. Sprained knees happen. Alabama wasn't anything serious and it was a game we were getting absolutely throttled in.

Does anybody know who's throwing the ball for ND yet? Sorta silly to make a prediction for that game.

That's because they're living in past. They just can't accept that the glory years of the Kirk Cousins era is over.

Not saying it will happen, but you never know. The funny thing about you pissing and moaning, your Michigan predictions have been bumped before. Talk about predicting every toss up as a loss. lol

I don't see us losing to Iowa. They shouldn't have beaten us last year and they are replacing much more than we are. And the game is in AA.

The three swing games are ND, Nebraska and OSU. It's unrealistic to expect us to win all three, but it's equally unrealistic to expect us to lose all three. We will win at least one and possibly two.

    MrWoodson

  • I don't see how they lose more than 3 games. Robinson is too good even if he isn't an elite passing qb to not keep them in every game, including Bama.

Michigan did win a lot of toss ups last year. Literally. They won with Denard lobbing it up in the air.

    Air Force W
    UMass W
Notre Dame W (I think that they'll be worse this year)
Purdue W ( beat them by over 20 points last year)
    Illinois W
MSU W (have to replace everyone on offense)
Nebraska W (beat them by 30+ last year)
Minnesota W (beat them by 58 last year)
    Northwestern W
Iowa W (they won't be as talented as last year)
Ohio State W (still the same defense we torched last year and they don't have Posey or Herron)

I was making a joke about Denard lobbing the ball everywhere.

Get some thicker skin and loosen up. It's Saturday night. Have a little fun.

I'm not angry. I was just pointing out that MSU had more toss-up wins last year than UM. I also find amusing irony in your mocking of Denard for lobbying the ball up to complete passes when you won the Wisconsin game on a Hail Mary.

Well, I was mocking Denard because every pass is like a wounded duck. The Cousins pass was a calculated play. I know you want to make them the same but they are not.

I never said you were angry.

I don't think the Spartans will be in the position to win as many of those "toss-ups" this season without a quarterback like Kirk Cousins at the helm. I could be wrong, but I think Kirk Cousins' ability to run their offense was sometimes overlooked, even by Spartan fans.

Well, Denard passing like a "wounded duck" got us a Sugar Bowl championship so I'm cool with that.
